  1. Grade 9, The Who's farewell show at Maple Leaf Gardens in '82. The very last one and I got to see it!!
  2. This is a great return to the lineup. A staple for many years early on. Really looking forward to hearing this. Thanks for the effort Willy. Cheers
  3. Wow what a great night. The new drummer sounded great and the band sounded really on. Second set really rocked. Great song selection. A lot of older ones that I haven't heard for a long long time. One or two fine sounding new ones I think as well.........Any one record this????
  4. I did see it, just by chance. It was really well done. One of the best docs I've seen in a long time. Thanks for all the suggestions. I had a few of them in mind, but lots of other ones I hadn't thought of. I thought someone would have thrown out Jerfferson Airplane's Triad by now :content:
  5. Hey all. I'm putting together an assignment for a grade 10 History class in which they will have to research and play songs from the 60's which reveal the changeing social and/or political attitudes of the times. I want to provide them some choices and would really appreciate any ideas people may have of songs that would fit the bill. Thanks. Rob
  6. As much as I appreciate his taste in music and overall comitment to the Dead (this goes a long way), he is a horrible basketball commentator. Way over the top, no subtley or insightful analysis.
  7. Jay, what time will tickets be on sale at the venue? I wasn't able to get advance tickets but will be in the area late in the afternoon. Rob
  8. I figured you would have been there for sure Absolute Route. Hey Willy, very few things could have kept me from missing this one. The mildly premature arrival of Simon O'Connor at 8 pounds 6 ounces the day before was one of those things. A happy reason to have to miss a show. No more kids coming in my life so I'll be at the 20yr anniversary for sure!
  9. I'd also like to get my hands on a shirt and a cd. My original cd made an unexpected trip out west in a friends car a few years back..........
  10. Hey Sarah I'm really hoping to make the trip down with Rachel, but with Jenn's due date 1 week later this is no doubt wishful thinking. I might have to wait for the Halloween show which will be my fifteen year aniversary show anyway. (1992, opening for Days of You, Serbian club, K-W.) Although this one could be up in the air too.... Thanks to the Fatties for given it for so many years!
  11. Greg, Are you going to be making this available for folks to purchase?
  12. What Wil said. It really was an amazing day all around. Nice to meet you as well Wil.
  13. Willy, no pressure or anything, but any idea when this might show up on the archive? I'm bad at waiting for Christmas morning too.
  14. Fantastic night. Great groovin crowd. I can't wait to get this one off the archive when it comes up. The Fatties were on their A game all night long. Some of the second set jams were So good I couldn't stop grinning. Dual keys sure was a treat.
  15. I really hope someone out there is going to record this!
  16. Never seen them but Angelo partied in my living room. Mid/Late 90's they played Kitchener (Volcano I think). My roomies went to the show, I had to get up early for work the next day so not really knowing the band stayed home. They invited the bar back to the house and Angelo came and partied the night away. I of course got very little sleep but never left my bedroom and missed the whole thing.
  17. Loads of fun last night. Thanks to Mark and others for their hard work behind the scenes making it all come together so nicely. Fatties were very loose, a bit ragged and jammin hard. Lots of covers as Ricky was not as comfortable with the originals and was being coached through a fair number of songs. Given that I think this was his first time on the kit with the Fatties he did a great job. Tyler has not stopped playing since he left the band and it showed. His chops were amazing, escpecially once the organ decided it would start working towards the end. Add to this lots of smiling faces from years gone by and it was fantastic night. Cheers
  18. Best recording of a Fatcats show I've ever heard. I'd be happy if Friday's show turns out 1/2 as good
  19. Thanks to all who are putting in the effort to record this. Last year the sound was awesome!! I know this was mentioned at the start of this thread, but having Tyler Gibson back with the Fatties for this one show makes it extra special for all those who were out to shows in the 90's. Thanks again for your efforts. Cheers
  20. I was just thinking about whatever happened to this recording. My ears rang for three days after this show but it was worth it. I've never heard each instrument so loud and yet so clear in a bar. Thanks for doing this, I can't wait to listen. Cheers
