  1. Last year Djed gifted me a Jerry Garcia bass strap that has a rendition of a painting he did on it. I really like it. The design is somewhat similar to some of the birks in the link. I don't really dig those birks though. I prefer plain old brown or black.

  2. I don't particularly like the snow but I do like certin things about the winter. For instance:

The way that cold air burns your lungs when you first step outside.

    Rosey cheeks.

Hats, mittens, scarves and warm winter jackets.

Being able to use the grey bananna (sled) and crazy carpets to go down super big hills off jumps and try not to crash into trees and walls. Very exciting!!

The way the ice and snow make our small world look so clean and new.

    Jack frost painting the windows.

The way dogs have to jump threw the snow and end up looking like over sized rabbits...

And last but not least my birthday and christmas!!

  3. I really love all animals but Guineas are a favourite. I had two abysinians, Rhubrab and Marigold and rectnly had to adopt them out because I was sneezing and getting rashes from handeling them. I felt it was unfair to have them and not be able to love them like they should be loved.

When I was young I had hamsters but I really don't care for them much after discovering rats, guineas and chinchilas.

Pig sounds adorable. Don't you love it when they purr and wheek for food?

    I miss my girls...:(

  4. By chance will you have a nice peice of that driftwood for sale in the near future??!!??

I've priced pet store peices and the size of wood we would like are super expensive. I found a man who sells drift wood from lake Simcoe but once again it is pretty pricey because of shipping weight.

We'll figure out something. Maybe like you suggested we'll go to a lake and try and find something usable on the shore.

    Thanks..

  5. Hey Esau...

Erich and I went hunting for good peices of wood for basking this weekend while we were in Muskoka. I know that I have to boil the wood in a bleach solution and then bake it but I was wondering if you knew if Poplar wood is okay for reptiles?? Also it is super hard to get the bark off so if we sand it well before we boil and bake do you know if the bark would harm him?

  6. I finally have enough (I think) saved for a decent digital camera. I've wanted one for a long time!! I have roughly 400 to spend. I have heard that I should buy a camera with 4.0 MP or more but other then that I really have no clue what to buy. Does anyone have any good advice? Can you tell me what you use and it's good/bad points? I want to have some idea of what I am shopping for when I go to the store tomorrow. Thank you!!

  7. I spent about 20 minutes on my hair this morning which I never do. I usually just comb it but I was handing out resumes and wanted to look presentable. I started walking and it just started pouring and I got pretty soaked. Plus now my hair is super pouffy and crazy again. I wish I had read the weather forcast first!!

  8. For all of you Harry fans I wanted to remind everyone that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is coming to theaters on November 18th. Two fridays from now!!

The fourth movie in the series promises to be the best yet! Harry is all grown up and some pretty amazing things happen in the book. Time to get out my Griffindor scarf! I can't wait.

  9. I love monitors and boas but because there so big and feisty they somewhat indimadate me. It's so funny that a big lizard makes me kinda nervous but a 1000 plus pound horse or cow are like big pets to me!!

Geez, I could talk about animals for days on end. I wish there was some kind of reptile or aquarium society in Burlington that I could go yak for hours with like minded people.

We'll definitly pm you when we go to the Reptile Store. I'd love to meet cobra bob and see his collection. Although maybe we'll try and go when he's not feeding?? I have a soft spot for rodents.

For anyone that is interested in the Ontario Reptile Expo here is a link to teh webpage for you...

  10. Thanks alot Esau...

Erich started this post and I really have no idea why. I used to work at a pet store in Bowmanville that sold a few differnt types of lizards. Beardies were the big seller but we had the typical pet store purchases like anoles, geckos and basilisk.

Needless to say I have a general idea on upkeep having to have learned all about the animals before I felt comfortable selling to a customer or helping with problems. I didn't get as interested in the lizards and snakes as I was in the fish and the parrots though so some of my knowledge is incomplete.

It's funny you mentioned The Reptile Store and The Port Credit Pet Center because I have looked both up online and in the phone book. I'm somewhat anal when it comes to my animals and really want to provide our beardie with the best possible enclosure for the cheapest price (i'm cheap). I researched both of those stores because I was told they sell a substrate which is coconut shells that are ground which beardies can digest, unlike sand.

Erich and I do not plan on getting our beardie until the new year so we have lots of time to learn all the tricks of teh trade!!

Thank you so much to everyone for being so helpful. You all sound like very responsible pet owners which are my favourite kind..:)

Oh Esau, we plan on going to the Ontario Reptile Expo in Feburary to buy the lavender mutation colour of the Beardie we want. I worked in a very clean, knowledgable pet store and have a hate on for stores that don't treat the animals properly so I refuse to buy pets in Burlington pet stores. Since your such a big reptile and probably pet lover like djed and myself you are more then welcome to come along if you like. Admission is 5 dollars..:)

  11. All around me are familiar faces

Worn out places, worn out faces

Bright and early for their daily races

    Going nowhere, going nowhere

And their tears are filling up their glasses

    No expression, no expression

Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow

    No tommorow, no tommorow

And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I’m dying

Are the best I’ve ever had

I find it hard to tell you

’cos I find it hard to take

    When people run in circles

    It’s a very, very

    Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good

    Happy birthday, happy birthday

Made to feel the way that every child should

Sit and listen, sit and listen

Went to school and I was very nervous

No one knew me, no one knew me

Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson

Look right through me, look right through me

I've been on a Tears for Fears kick and this is one of my favourite songs. They are very much pop but I can not belive how wonderful and poetic some of there lyrics are. There music also have alot going on in them. Worth a listen for someone who hasn't heard there music.

  12. Here's a few ideas..

You could go as a hunter. Idea from scruffy beard. Find a camo hat, get a plaid jacket, wear jeans and a pair of work boots. If you wanted to be really autentic you could get a few stuffed ducks and tie them on a string from your but so it looks like you shot them. A fake shot gun would add to the costume.

Another idea is always Jesus. Long white dress/robe. If you wanted to get really grusome you could find a few peices of vine and wear it on your head with fake blood pouring down your face. You could also figure out hwo to attach a nail head to your wrist with more fake blood.

You could also go as Duane Allman. Shave the middle of your beard. Find some nice bell bottoms and a paisley print dress shirt and wear cowboy boots.

I have tons more but I don't want to jam up this thread with costume ideas. Hope this helped.
