Nice! Enjoy the show. I didn't even realize he was coming around, man I'm really of the loop now-a-days. Agreed, I figured the same thing about King and that version, he (like Beck too) has that same 'driving' (not car) energy to it, that really gets me moving, & energized. I'd had love to see Freddie King live, just once.

Nice. I have a copy of their one album (self titled) I found on a blog years ago. King covered a few Moloch tunes. Great song, but for me King holds all the cards when it comes to my favourite version. Becks is great too, but King's energy, and vocals simply give me shivers and hit me like no other version. Also should be noted that while Moloch was the first to release it, it was Don Nix who actually wrote the song, and later (1972) released it as a single. So, it fits this thread as a cover of sorts. Don Nix version - with his band 'The Alabama State Troupers' (w/ Furry Lewis even!)

  6. Well it's official: I'm oblivious to francophone sarcasm.
  7. Considering I won't drive 35 mins east to see them, that wouldn't sweeten the deal. But as mentioned, if Ana is actually into checking this out, I'd go. Otherwise, it'll be two weeks in Varennes.

  9. Yes and no. I'd love to make a journey to Ottawa and see friends, plus she's originally from Montreal and keeps talking how we should go there this summer. Dates of the fest fit the time frame and since she listens to a lot of those bands, and if into it, then sure why not. Musically we're not in the same boat though.
  10. So I told the gal I'm seeing I wanted to go to Ottawa for this. First question I was asked: "is there a night ranger cover playing? I started to laugh, she didn't. I'm really not sure if she's serious.
  11. This is exactly the type of event my bottle of everclear has been waiting for.
  12. Hey hey. Hope life's been treating you well.
