  1. i have 10 invites. pm me the address and i'll hook it up
  2. Just to add. There is a big rumor (and a very justifiable one at that) that claims the band "Hanging Brains" (from Chicago) is in fact Umphrey's McGee.
  3. Did anyone tape this show, or see any tapers there?
  4. Arnie! This news is most excellent. We will arrange the appropriate ride accomodations for you. Can't wait to get back on the road with ya.
  5. Just added: The Tragically Hip , Zappa Plays Zappa , Particle, Blueground Undergrass, Outformation, The Lee Boys, Big Organ Trio, Stealin' Strings, Down Lo, White Iron Band, Hobo Nephews, The Smokin' Bandits, Unity, Kinetix, Madahoochi, That 1 Guy and The Lighter Side of Being Can somebody say " Best festival ever!"?
  6. Umphrey's McGee just added to Grateful Fest!
  7. which is still not saying much
  8. Tom Morello in the SuperJam mebbeh?
  9. maybe so, but there's a million studio singers out there for hire that could handle backing vocals just fine, and at this point, probably better than Anthony. so not that big a deal
  10. you should call yourselves The Shameless Plug(s)
  11. this is the best news ever! i cannot wait for UM to rage the Opera House.
  12. i thought they were pretty good actually, considering tailspin is not one of their better newer songs
  13. Jimmy Herring is the sole reason that i can tolerate listening to WSP
  14. 2 words... Umphrey's McGee
  15. again, while i don't particularly dig their current sound, SCI definitely has the chops, perhaps not quite the musical pedigree of Ratdog, but they can sure as hell play their instruments well.
  16. i know very well who Buddy Cage is (i have dabbled on pedal steel myself). But for a guy who has been around the scene as long as he has, he's gotta realize that the scene has been kept alive by the newer bands, and there's a whole new generation of fans that enjoy a lot of the music that gets played on the radio station that he DJs for. Don't get me wrong I love the Dead but a lot of people are so caught up in the whole Grateful Dead nostalgia thing that they're missing out on a lot of the other dynamic acts on the scene. He really didn't need to further glorify Weir or The Dead or whatnot by completely ripping apart SCI like that. i dunno, i'm not even sure i'm making sense right now. haven't really slept in about 2 days.
  17. I am not really fan of SCI, but in their defense, who the fuck is Buddy Cage? He has been in NRPS for 40 years, and finally now, people are paying a bit of attention to them (being a DJ on Sirius probably helps). SCI is more relevant than Buddy Cage. Talk about riding on the coat tails of the Grateful Dead
  18. *bows down to guitar god* I am patiently waiting for the next Umphrey's Northeast Ter so i can hop on.
  19. this show was totally filthy. a well played 1st set was hampered by bad sound near the back where we were standing. but the 2nd set up front was the heat! and i believe my face sustained 3rd degree burns from Warren's face melting solo on Endless Parade
  20. i'm calling a Monkey Hill somewhere and a Hammer 'n Nails opener. Oh yeah, and possibly a Game Face
  21. i'll be there with the poppa of afros himself. cannot wait to RAGE the Kool Haus on Friday! much encouragement for everyone to make it out to the Rochester show on Saturday night as well, me and ari are heading down for that.
