  1. Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I just walked past a poster for this show here in Kingston, and apparently camping passes are sold out. Still regular tickets available though.
  2. I only caught the first set of NFTT in Toronto as I had to drive back to Kingston, but they were as good as always. Good to see you again Steve!
  3. Just a couple days away! Any Kingston folk on these boards coming to this?
  4. I'll also be at this show - whether I'm contractually obligated or not is irrelevant. I'd be there even if the Slaves weren't playing, that's just a bonus that we get to play too. Seriously stoked to see the Bus again, it's been way too long. And from what little I've heard of the Fussy Part, I'm going to like them a lot too.
  5. HAH I didn't notice that the first time i skimmed the article. Roth always cracks me up.
  6. I don't mean that he's a great singer, but the sound of his voice was a big part of the Van Halen sound, especially for the first bunch of albums. Studio vocalists or not, it won't sound the same.
  7. I actually think kicking out Michael Anthony is a big mistake. His bass playing was only really there to fill out the low end, but in my opinion his high harmonies are key to the band's sound.
  8. I agree, I prefer Pride Fighting Championship much more. Similar type of fighting, but in a ring, mostly in Japan. The fans there are much more interested in the technical aspects of fighting - instead of booing when the fighters are on the ground for more than a minute, the Japanese fans are almost silent, cause they know what's going on. Bas was one of the announcers at Pride for a long time, until just recently.
  9. Brave New Waves turned me on to so many new bands that I would probably never have heard of otherwise. We always listened to it driving home from shows back in the mid/late nineties. This is really a shame.
  10. I lent the Cd to a friend yesterday, but when I get it back I'll put a torrent up for sure. Give me a couple of days.
  11. Too funny, I was at that show too. Somewhere around here I've got a board mix of them playing at Copper Penny II in 1985, with the sax player instead of Paul Langois. A friend did the recording, found it recently and gave away CDs as christmas presents.
