  1. One Sick Knave Everything Must Go Summer Of My Fall Sissyfuss To You Unprotected Sex When A Woman Poor Boy** Tombstone*** Roses In Bottles That's The Way I'm No Good At All The Last One Ever**** * There were 2 slow Nathan songs thrown in there somewhere towards the middle/end. No encore, 1 long set (1.5hrs) ** Nathan left the stage leaving BAM + Marco to jam. Brad then left leaving just the MB3 to jam for a while. Brad tries to lead the song into It's A Long Way To the Top but I saw Marc look at him and shake his head no (guess PB was long enough without it). *** Nathan's mic cut, there was banter between Nathan and the crowd until he fixed it **** Mid song, Brad walks off the stage and tears and extended solo in crowd. He then brings his mic down into the crowd and has everyone help sing with him. A bunch of fans climb on stage and sing with Nathan. It was a very awesome moment. I'll have a proper review with pictures up tomorrow.
  2. New artist mixtape today from Nathan Moore! http://theartistmixtapes.com/2011/08/19/volume-40-nathan-moore-2/
  3. yah i'll have it hot ticketed for blogTO and i'll make sure to review and have a photographer on hand for it.
  4. Compiled 14 tunes that have been on heavy repeat on my iPod this summer, figured you guys might dig 'em. http://backin15minutes.com/2011/08/05/a-mid-summer-playlist/
  5. nathan talking about getting into canada tonight on his webcast, "cutting down red tape" and had his fingers crossed about getting in. slip + marco show at the horseshoe perhaps? wouldn't be a bad fall back plan.
  6. My review of Real Estate's Tuesday night show at The Garrison http://www.blogto.com/music/2011/07/real_estate_bridge_the_indie-jam_divide_at_the_garrison/
  7. they are putting out a new album (eventually) will they tour behind it? probably very minimally. i do agree they should just stick with 1 band, at this point the barr brothers as it's actually getting the best/most buzz, but you know the barrs, they don't do what's safe, they just do what they wanna do...
  8. hahah that was pretty golden. think those 3 slip shows were probably the last for some time as the barrs will now be focusing heavily on the barr brothers, what with the label signing and big tours coming up.
  9. Sam Cohen of Yellowbirds/Apollo Sunshine. http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=546652 1: Broke the Promised Land, The Soft Machine, Take the Bus, Airplane/Primitive, Sometimes True to Nothing, Motherwolf*, new tune 1*, new tune 2*, Wolof, True Love Ain't Enough, Weight of Solomon, Reddish Moon**, Children of December e: Get Me With Fuji*, If One of Us Should Fall * with Sam Cohen (Apollo Sunshine, Yellowbirds) on guitar. ** new arrangement
  10. hahaha what? chassing rabbits isn't on the mix i made, and the video is of the brothers playing Beggar in the Morning. you must be listening to some mp3s of your own haha!
  11. me too, thankfully it's going to be recorded by a number of people. also follow @doggoneblog on twitter, i think he'll be live tweeting from the show.
  12. I curated an 8 track Slip mixtape at Dog Gone Blog today in celebration of tonight's show. Give it a listen! http://doggoneblog.com/2011/07/14/the-slip-returns-tonight/ Also, check out this video of The Barr Brothers playing live in the Relix boiler room. http://www.relix.com/video/live-at-relix/2011/07/14/the-barr-brothers-beggar-in-the-morning
  13. And they'll be back in Toronto Sept 17 to play Lee's Palace. Big things for The Barr Brothers this year.
  14. My review of Monday's show and some incredible pictures by my friend Courtney http://www.blogto.com/music/2011/07/my_morning_jacket_pour_on_the_sweat_at_the_kool_haus/
  15. dude. THE DARK. if they came on stage, played that and walked off i would have been satisfied haha.
  16. I can't believe they busted out The Dark, one my favourite songs by them, tho the people around me seemed to be totally clueless towards the ridiculously hard rocking song. anyways, amazing show, sweaty as a all hell. i'll have a review up tmrw, my friend took AMAZING photos.
  17. actually yah you can just throw money at a problem like this and it will go away. it's always just been a matter of nathan/band getting a lawyer to deal with the problem which is expensive and time consuming. you've gotta do that and still hopefully have the tour turn a profit for the process to be worth it. canada for them is still a gamble attendance wise, i guess they're hoping its going to work this summer...not really sure.
  18. So i wonder, if nathan DOESN'T make it over the border, do we get The Slip + Marco or do they cancel the shows altogether?
  19. yah my buddy greg takes excellent photos. he's the photographer on the majority of my blogTO reviews.
  20. My review of The Black Keys show last Thursday http://www.blogto.com/music/2011/07/the_black_keys_tease_the_molson_amphitheatre_crowd/
  21. You guys may know this band, they used to be Rubblebucket Miracle Orchestra. Anyways, they're a really cool band with a great new album out called Omega La La. They were nice enough to contribute a mixtape. Give it a listen. http://theartistmixtapes.com/2011/07/04/volume-34-rubblebucket/
