  1. I know I would have paid as much for them if there was no opener, but knowing its Caribou makes giving that large money all the more easier. Very very excited to see them open. I missed them each time they came to town on the Swim tours and before that.

  2. Hey there, last night they broadcasted Patrick Watson's concert at the 2009 Montreal International Jazz Fest on ARTV. They will be re-broadcasting it on Friday and Sunday and was wondering if anyone had the ability to capture it (preferably in HD)?

Please do let me know, I'd be great to have a HD recording of that broadcast.

    Thank you,

  3. So, I'm trying to finish record some parts of my music and since I'm back in my work routine, I only have the weekends to record. Unfortunately these amps keep getting rented out before I can catch them, and I feel if I rent it a day ahead of time its a waste as I only get to record Saturday and Sunday daytime.

So, just a super shot in the dark does anyone have one of these amps that I could rent or just borrow for a weekend??? I'd like to think the few people that know me here in person can attest that I'm a responsible person who can make sure nothing gets damaged.

Just pretty down after making the call to find out Blues Jr, Hot Rod even Twin Reverb all rented out...and well was REALLY looking forward to wrapping up my parts.

    Thanks anyway

  4. Woohoo!

Adventures In Your Own Backyard, the fourth full-length effort from Patrick Watson, was recorded in Montreal after a grueling five-year run that saw Patrick and his band (bassist Mishka Stein bass, guitarist Simon Angell and drummer Robbie Kuster) tour the world in support of two critically-acclaimed and successful albums, including the Polaris Music Prize-winning Close To Paradise.

The album’s title is a nod to both Watson’s attempt to make a more “personal, humble†record—and to the fact that it was recorded almost entirely in his apartment in Montreal. By contrast, both Close to Paradise and especially 2009’s Wooden Arms were recorded over long periods of time, in many different locations around the globe. As Kuster explains, “Pat's studio environment allowed us to be relaxed and feel like we were in an informal space...our own. That really let us dig in to the writing and the arranging.†The result is an album that is still ripe with the touchstones one has come to expect from Patrick Watson and his collaborators, but permeated with a greater sense of patience, and confidence.

  5. I saw them play for the first time in years' date=' a few weeks ago in a church at Supercrawl (in Hamilton). They put on a great live show, quite moving! [b']Looking forward to seeing them again.

Lucky for you they are coming back to Hamilton on Nov 24 at the Casbah.

I ended up catching some of their last shows. Here's my favorite track done live:
