  1. Two night passes and Saturday single passes are now sold out!
  2. Looks like they're playing High Sierra...
  3. That's a kraft single grilled cheese for sure.
  4. We've got a large crew skating Saturday afternoon and staying at the Adams Mark.
  5. It was a bit of a pain for it being solely for 'nostalgic' reasons but I went in for it. I can see some upset folks if they don't score tickets and having to eat potentially $70 plus in money orders. Shapiro talks about the gig plus other things
  6. That doesn't really make Steve being the host of a sports radio show relevant at all. He sure does, but taking it publicly on his sports radio program is just as low as whatever he think's or knows Chris has done to him.
  7. Steve Gorman apparently has a sports talk radio show (not sure why) and got into the breakup a bit at the beginning of each hour of his show which can be heard here. He keeps saying how he would have done the upcoming tour (25 year anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker) just to thank all of his fans. If that was the case than why not except being a paid employee? There is a huge part to this story that is missing and we likely won't hear. I think Gorman comes off sounding like a tool.
  8. In a statement released today, guitarist Rich Robinson has officially announced the breakup of his former band, the beloved Black Crowes. Rich and his brother Chris Robinson founded the band back in 1989. The statement: It is with great disappointment and regret that after having the privilege of writing and performing the music of The Black Crowes over the last 24 years, I find myself in the position of saying that the band has broken up. I hold my time with the Black Crowes with the utmost respect and sincerest appreciation. It is a huge swath of my life’s body of work. I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished and deeply moved by the relationships people created and maintained with my music. That alone is the greatest honor of being a musician. **I love my brother and respect his talent but his present demand that I must give up my equal share of the band and that our drummer for 28 years and original partner, Steve Gorman, relinquish 100% of his share, reducing him to a salaried employee, is not something I could agree to.** There are so many people who have helped and supported us along the way. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of our fans, our friends behind the scenes, and to everyone who was a part of The Black Crowes. The band has been on hiatus since 2010, though performed sporadically throughout 2013. They did not perform at all in 2014, as both Chris and Rich Robinson have been working and touring with their own solo bands. **Not sure exactly what that part of his statement is referring to, seems like a weird space to air that laundry.**
  9. I hope to catch this band at a festival this summer. A quartet assembled by Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik, has announced their first tour. The group is comprised of Jeff Chimenti, Jay Lane, and Reed Mathis (of Tea Leaf Green), and will hit the road for a brief tour in California. This is their debut tour, coming just months after their debut performance at Terrapin Crossroads. Here are the dates below: 1/30 & 2/1 - Sweetwater Music Hall - Mill Valley, CA 2/2 - Humboldt Brews - Arcata, CA 2/3 - City Winery - Napa, CA 2/4 - The Catalyst - Santa Cruz, CA 2/6 (Sold Out) & 2/7 - Golden Sails - Long Beach, CA
  10. Nice! I still have an extra two day pass for anyone interested, can split up the nights leaving Friday available if I do that.
  11. What was wrong with the ticket sales last time?
  12. There is at least 10 of us staying at the Adam's Mark, so skating and The Liberty Hound sounds like a perfect pre moe. birthday agenda.
  13. Relevant Dave Matthews Band dates; July 3-4 - SPAC - Saratoga Springs, NY July 7 - DTE Energy Music Theater - Clarkston, MI July 8 - Blossom - Cuyahoga Falls, OH July 21 - Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto, ON July 22 - Bell Centre - Montreal, QE Sept 1 - Rogers Arena - Vancouver, BC
  14. The speculations are intertwining... With a great number of rumors circulating around Phish and their summer plans, it's only natural to look at all of the data and speculate wildly. Factually speaking, Dave Matthews Band will be performing at SPAC on July 3rd and 4th, where Phish has played the last three years. This leaves the door open for a number of things, including a theorized Grateful Dead Core Four reunion with Trey Anastasio at Soldier Field in Chicago, and a theoretical festival at Watkins Glen. Let's start with the Core Four reunion, which would be a welcomed way to celebrate the Dead's 50th anniversary. Anastasio is certainly a theoretical candidate, as the guitarist is a known fan of the Dead, and even performed with Furthur at LOCKN' Festival 2013 (not the only time that a Phish-Dead crossover has occurred, just the most recent). Unofficial Dead biographer Scott Allen, who wrote "Aces Back To Back," shared a lengthy status that seemed rather confident about these happenings. He writes: "The three-night stand by the Dead at Soldier Field on July 3, 4 and 5, 2015 is a done deal and will be announced by the band before the end of this month. Trey Anastasio is in. He may play at one of the three shows or at all three. I feel they need his drawing power and therefore he will likely play all three nights." Obviously, still unannounced, but very interesting. Another rumor floating around is the possibility of a Phish Festival X, which would be held at Watkins Glen International sometime in Late August. The raceway is being repaved on August 10th, thus limiting the possible Festival timing until after that date. Phish held their last festival at the same site in 2011, and both The Leader and Syracuse.com are discussing the possibility of a Festival X in 2015. Again, nothing is confirmed, but a festival would align with Anastasio's statement that Phish would be touring less in 2015. With Phish not playing Saratoga over July 4th weekend, it seems likely that the band will play at another spot in upstate New York, and Watkins Glen is a prime candidate. There are a number of financial considerations as well, including that the festival raised $500,000 in revenue for the region, and that the venue gets a 50% tax cut for events drawing over 20,000 people. Phish brought 30,000 to their last festival at Watkins Glen. All in all, with the band's renewed creative vigor, summer tour 2015 is something we can all eagerly anticipate. (via jambase.com)
  15. What is the restaurant called at canalside?
  16. Is anyone going to these shows? The two night package is sold out but you can get individual tickets for both nights. I have a line on two night tickets at face if anyone is interested.
  17. Phil Lesh will keep the Grateful Dead 50th anniversary celebration rolling at Terrapin Crossroads, as the former-Dead bassist has been paying tribute to different years in the band's towering legacy. Starting with 1965 and 1966, Phil & Friends have been announcing shows two at a time, each focusing on an individual year in the band's history. The latest additions to this series are the tributes to 1969 and 1970, which will be held on February 6th and 7th, respectively. With a lineup that includes Scott Law, Stu Allen, Ross James, Jason Crosby and Cody Dickinson, these two shows should be phenomenal, considering the music that the Grateful Dead wrote and recorded during this time period. Both Workingman's Dead and American Beauty were released in 1970.
  18. Sacred steel supergroup The Word have announced their sophomore album, Soul Food, to be released on May 5th via Vanguard Records. The Word consists of Robert Randolph, John Medeski, and the North Mississippi Allstars [Cody Dickinson, Luther Dickinson, Chris Chew]. The dynamic group put out their debut self-titled album in 2001, launching a then-unknown Robert Randolph into the limelight. The group has reunited to tour and perform at festivals sporadically throughout the past decade and a half, though Soul Food marks the very first studio collaboration since the band's initial formation. Recording sessions began last year, held in both New York and Memphis. A statement from Dickinson read, "The recording locations of New York City and Memphis represent who the Word is... The spirit of each city, different though they might be, each sets us free. And 14 years after our first album, it is so thrilling to hear what our collective power for improvisation has become. We're ready to go anywhere the inspiration takes us." While the tracklist for the album has yet to be finalized, it will include guest vocalists Amy Helm and Ruthie Foster on two songs - a big deal, considering the group's music is largely instrumental. Check out the preview for the new album below:
