  1. PalacePrincess - agree they played smart, but in the end - the made 2 bad mistakes that sunk them. They didn't look too smart getting lost on the way to the 30ft dive, or getting lost in Little Havana!

Plus - they were underhanded, used bribes, stole cabs, called competitors 'idiots'. Karma won out this time around!

  2. I was really happy with this result, and I thought it was an awesome final episode. I've been pulling for Uchenna and Joyce since Brian and Greg went down - it's been cool to watch their relationship strengthen and their love grow, while Ron and Kelly's relationship disintegrated.

Still not exactly sure how Uchenna and Joyce got on that flight, but I'm glad they did. Maybe it was divine (not CBS) intervention?

Either way, Ramber didn't need another million.

  3. hey Deeps, nice post.

I guess the real goods is when you understand what key a song (or section) is in. Then you know all the passing tones that'll work with the changes.

Of course, there's also those (usually the best sounding) passing tones that have nothing to do with the scale you're in.

That's what funk is all about eh? Flat 2s, flat 5s... mmm so tasty!

  4. hey hey!

Good for you - the most important thing about going from guitar to bass is a change of mindset. You are no longer up in the captain's chair, now... you work in the hot n' sweaty engine room. You'll learn to love it ;)

For right hand technique, just keep at it. Try resting your thumb on the humbucker and adjusting your strap for minimum bend in your wrist.

Practice alternating fingers, muting strings, etc with your first two fingers on your right hand. Work some arpeggios and scales crossing multiple strings. Most important thing is practice (or as they say in Japan: renshu, renshu)

Keep your two fingers moving like a walking human being. Try to cop as many basslines as you can by ear from records. And try not to venture above the 7th fret too often ;) It'll just piss your bandmates off. lol

I'll give you a lesson if you stop by Victoria BC!

  5. Sure, much in the same way that some people believe in dreams as message from deep inside the subconcious, I feel the same about "songs in my head".

Occasionally I'll find a valid message in the lyrical content of the "song in my head" that I might apply to my life.

I am a witch and a big believer in divination so my faith helps with this! I wouldn't want to try and back this up in front of a bunch of cynics though. It's just something I believe in.

For example, if one morning I woke up singing "Ice Ice Baby" and then later that day I was asked to go skating with a hot girl, I'd definitely say yes to her.

  6. Yes, yes, YES!

I wake up with a different song in my head every morning. I'm trying to remember now which song it was this morning...

I personally think that 'songs in your head' are a method that the subconscious uses to try and get messages to the concious.

For example, if I woke up singing "Fly By Night" - I'd know that my my ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend!
