  3. [blurb] Chameleon Project @ Last Cherry Beach of the Summer 5:00 - 6:00 PM www.chameleonproject.com www.myspace.com/chameleonproject On Monday, September 1st - Labour day Monday, The Chameleon Project will be performing at Cherry Beach Promise Soundsystem in Toronto. [/blurb] Another happy summer at Cherry Beach is almost over culminating in the final party this Monday 3 - 11 pm. You will find the park at the end of Cherry St. in Toronto - along the sandy beach on the east side of the park, near the windsurfing club. This area is very magical place where over the past 10 years local event crew "Promise" has hosted free beach parties - helping create an important community event in Toronto. This year "Promise" has decided to expand the amount of lighting in the trees after nightfall and use bigger speakers, larger generator and a trailer to move everything to and from the site. The change make the events sound nicer, and more comfortable after dark. At 5:00 - 6:00 PM Toronto's The Chameleon Project will perform on the beach for the first time - bringing their brand of electronica jazz and dub. Line up includes: 3:00 Mentalfloss - downtempo 4:00 Fawn Big Canoe - house and electro 5:00 Chameleon Project - live funk 6:00 Nick and Pierre - electro and breaks 7:00 Maracatu Nunca Antes - live drumming 7:30 DJ ?uesquecest - jungle boogie 8:30 Nacho Lovers - techno and house 9:30 kf - techno DIRECTIONS: Go south on Cherry St. ( Street Starts at the bottom of Parliament and Lakeshore) to the end parking lot . Then follow the beach East - there you'll see the party! See you there! check it out y'all!! www.ilovepromise.com

  5. any one hyped to see this??? The New Deal is marking their 10 year anniversary with an intimate live recording in Toronto on September 6, 2008. The show at Lee's Palace marks the anniversary of their first pair of The New Deal gigs at the notorious "Comfort Zone" in downtown Toronto. These shows were recorded live to cassette tape and shortly thereafter became the band's breakout debut record, entitled "This Is Live". On the strength of those first improvised gigs, The New Deal found themselves touring all over North America, growing a loyal fan base, inspiring an new genre of music and exploring the outer reaches of the live music experience. The band is preparing a special set of music to commemorate 10 years of live electro, 9 records and close to a thousand gigs! Come rock out with tND on their 10th birthday

  11. The Sunseekers Ball 3 August 22nd & August 23rd Chance Harbour, New Brunswick Come join us under the sun and stars for the third installment of this much anticipated weekend. We searched for months to locate a suitable piece of land for the festival, and finally found a gem! What could be better than 2 days of live music surrounded by your friends on a beautiful piece of land. This year, we will be offering a site for people to not only enjoy the music, but to also enjoy nature! The new festival grounds are located on a rural 1000 acre plot of land situated just a 5 minute drive from the ocean. Two large lakes are located on-site and are both suitable for swimming and boating. More room than we know what to do with. There will be plenty of camping and parking onsite. Lots of info coming very shortly. So mark it on your calendars folks! August 22nd and 23rd are going to be 2 dates to remember to cap off the summer of 2008! 12. I've owned 3 VW Buses - I miss them all! 1/ '78 Green Traveled from Toronto to San Francisco back to Halifax over a 1 month period. Hit Phish in Albany in '99. Blew up on Girlfriend's trip to Toronto - after $2,000 in repair - the Van's engine seized and was traded away for parts. 2/ '84 Yellow Traveled all over Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario promoting the Evolve Festival. Stopped working randomly in a KFC Parking lot in Antigonish. 3/ '88 White Traveled all over Ontario - doing two festival trips to Evolve Festival. On tour in 2007 it caught fire and burned to the ground.
