  8. There is a great little show this Friday (Mar2, 8pm) at the Now Lounge in Toronto. "A Band of Owls" are a folk/rock/jam band - style group from the east coast. Heathore is known for her riveting and soulful voice while Paul is known for his sweet double bass funk and charm. The two of them have an engaging presence and their energy and depth is inspiring. They are amazing musicians not to mention fun and down-to-earth folks. They are coming through town to promote their new album, "Of Wood and Water, Stars and Song" Check them out at www.abandofowls.ca (they also have a myspace page)
  9. SLowcoaster is in Ottawa on Thursday. March 15th, while GTB is in Kingston. I tried to put these shows on different dates, however GTB didn't let me know until it was too late. Slowcoaster is really on a roll, the are probably one of the most happening bands on the east coast... They just wrapped up recording their latest CD, which will be distributed by EMI... I expect this band to be the one 'jam' band that breaks in hit radio territory. as for the group, they've been playing as a trio and quintet depending on the show. JSB's Aaron Collier played with them at the ECMAs. see: http://radio.upei.ca/ecma/node/4662 Their percussionist Darren is now their full time manager and it's been tough for him to play all the shows, and orchestrating this new record deal etc... He still plays with Slowcoaster, but just not on a regular basis.
  10. Pictures of last weekend... Freddy getting Fresh King Sunshine Robb G
  11. sounds like a sweet deal... can u email me a pic? jay
  12. their breakup seemed unexpected but it was kinda at a point when I became bored of thier sound... didn't Zack go all nutty or something? Him and DJ shadow put out a remix of Saul William's "Not in Our Name" I think, then that's the last i heard about it. I saw them twice, it was pretty awesome both times, once was when they opened for Cypress Hill. what a doozy
  13. i'm always looking to jam! let me know where you are going out to!
