  11. Feb. 10th The Now Lounge (189 Church St.) Tel. 416 532 7020 Time 9:00 pm Hot Toddy, featuring Thom Swift (acoustic guitar, dobro, vocals), Tom Easley (double bass, vocals), and Joel LeBlanc (electric guitar, harmonica, vocals), deliver an inventive blend of roots, blues and jazz accompanied by insightful lyrics, unique storytelling and driving rhythms. Following up the success of their East Coast Music Award-winning fifth independent album, The Salty Sessions Vol II (a follow up to Salty Sessions Vol I), Hot Toddy collaborated with fellow New Brunswick group Isaac & Blewett for a live off the floor recording titled Live At The Black Box. The album was released nationally in September 2005 to glowing critical praise and recently won both groups the 2007 Maple Blues Award for Acoustic Act of the Year. Moncton’s Times & Transcript said of the album, "…when it's all over you feel you've heard a disc made by experts of the craft." Toronto’s NOW Magazine claimed “The sound is spot on and perfectly captures the immediacy and subtleties of a concert…†Halifax’s Daily News said “Swift’s “Hard Times†and Easley’s “After the Fire†are two of the best songs I’ve heard in ages.†Hot Toddy is a regular on the Canadian festival scene and has played the prestigious Newport Folk Festival in the US, the Blue Balls Festival in Switzerland and the Vienna Jazz Festival in Austria. They are often heard on independent radio in the US and Canada and are a mainstay on CBC Radio. Recently, the group has opened for such diverse performers as jazz great Bill Frisell and country icon Dolly Parton. Hot Toddy has also become a favourite collaborator with such notables as Flamenco guitarist Juan Martin, harmonica wizard Mike Stevens and bluegrass legend Raymond McLain.
