Yeah, I can't wait to see this. I still find it so unbelievable that I watched it all happen on live TV. So sad.
Thanks for the link Steve!

California Dreamin'. The most depressing song out there. My Mom said that I despised that song even as a small child.
djed, I am with you 100% on Crazy Train as well. There is no turn off greater than seeing a drunken jackass feel the need to perform that song, air guitar style, should it happen to come on at a bar. Windmills and everything. Ew!

YAAAAAAAAA-FREAKIN-WHOOOOOOOO!!!
I'm so excited for the fence painting extravaganza. Oh, and the tea, of course.
Deb, does this mean Lacey can't make his infamous PB sandwiches? LOL And you'll be happy to hear...
[color:blue]I GOT FRIDAY OFF!!!
I'm amazed! So I guess I'll see you crazy kids on Thursday night. Hurray!

Why does everyone assume I'm an American?
 Whoops! Sorry Steve. I have NO idea why I'd assumed that. Hehehe. I guess you guys have the same Thanksgiving in Ottawa, eh?

The Gypsy Co-op had been undergoing some major renovations... new walls, new kitchen and bathrooms...
Uhh, yeah...about those bathrooms; is there now a wall between the ladies and gents rooms? It was pretty hilarious to see some ladies trying to check themselves out in the "mirrors" to the side of the sink, only to find a guy looking back at them. LMAO!!!

Steve, keep in mind that it's Thanksgiving weekend up here (Monday's a holiday) and that some places may be closed. However, the nightlife hardly ever shuts down so you should be okay there. Enjoy your time in the big smoke!
You may want to check out www.upcoming.org and search Toronto. There are a few things listed, but I'm not sure if they'd float your boat.
The Gypsy's always a good time and you'll most likely get to meet some folks from around here.

Awesome Stephen! Those are hilarious. Best of luck to you and your lovely lady. Looks like the little one's off to a good start.
-
Whoops! I saw the cake icon yesterday and totally gapped. Sorry djed! Anyway, happy belated bitter boy.
I hope to meet you one of these days.

Willy, I don't have the info with me now, but I did see rooms for rent on Craigslist that were $26 a day or something. She may be able to work something out to have it the same 3 days every week. I'm still apartment searching like mad, so if I come across the info today, I'll post it.
Good luck to your friend. I know exactly how stressful it is to find something affordable in the Tdot right now.

I tried to find the exact same thing out, Jay. With the basic Expressvu package there's a PBS station listed. My guess is that you'll be able to find it on there somewhere at 9pm. Do a search in "themes" and "movies" to find out for sure. It should be listed there.
I can't think of anything else I'd rather do on a rainy evening.

Please show your colours Toronto...
Okay, fine Jay! I'm bringin' the usual crew. We're excited to get dancey (and possibly see Ms. Hux & Bouche later on )
-
Yay! It'll be awesome to have you and Lewdi on the dance floor with me babes. Hurray!

I thought it was an awesome way to present a sometimes tired old story line (ahhh, the love story) in a completely original and unconventional way. Alas, I know of a lot of folks who just didn't get the big deal.
Damn, I think I may watch this as part of my Monday Night Recovery Routine.

Yeah, congrats Deeps! You guys are so cute.
We're going to a wedding in a couple of weeks where the bride has spent $10K+ on the catering alone. CRAZY!!! My family has been doing the small wedding/big party after kind of deal. I don't know of anyone who had their folks pay for the wedding. It's usually the couple (most likely with some help from both families) who pay for the celebration these days. My family's HUGE and I'd break the bank just trying to feed them alone. The tradition has become to have some funky private wedding in Mexico or in a country school house or something and then have a rager later on. The couple get to spend their big day together (and not trying to visit with 300 people), and they enjoy the party later on WAY more because there's no stress. I'm all for the tiny ceremony and crazy party after. Convincin' my better half may not be easy though.

Michel Gondry directed it.
One of my favourites. Jon Brion's soundtrack is awesome too.
-
Yay! Conratulations Sharon! Way to go after what you want. I'm gonna get around to that one of these days too.
-
Thanks for the review Deeps. You and Sara certainly are two adventurous kids. I couldn't believe my ears (for the 3rd time that night) when you guys came outside and announced you were off to Farm Aid. "WTF? Now?!?" Well done.
Glad you enjoyed Wilco. Tweedy gives me the shivers (in that un-fuckin-believably-good kind of way). Jesus, etc. is one of my favourites. Wow! I wish I could've witnessed that.
Oh, and GO NEIL! I love that man. I hope to see him again one day. I've never been disappointed.
-
I'd go for the mullets alone.

Too bad it's a Wednesday. I need to hear these guys again when Brinapple hasn't been messing with my brain receptors.

Dear hamilton:
How many variations are there on the spelling of Booche/Bouche? Please list.
Yours truly,
Perplexed in Moonstone
-
Hahaha. Will do!
-
PLEASE get them back Jay! That was a great night. Man, they were high energy.
You'll have to make the trek down next time Julia!
-
Oh Lordy! The last thing we need around here is another Bouchard. How many variations on that spelling can we come up with?
Need help for a friend in Toronto
