  1. I could only stay for Friday night, and enjoyed it very much. Not much to add to what has already been said. I thought that Dave Hill was on fire playing bass with the Fatties, and Diesel Doug's voice really impressed me in the saloon. Loved how Diesel Dog jammed out some of the songs they played. I thought that Battleship Ethel had a good thing going on, but I wasn't really in the mood for it so I chose to use some of that time to visit with some people I hadn't seen in a while.

Bummer about the lunatic psycho guy ...

Wish I could have caught some of the music on Saturday and Sunday, but had to get back to KW.

    Peace, Mark

  3. Garaj Mahal finally came on the main stage at about 12:30 or so and they were hands down the best group of players I have seen. It was insane just driving funky rhythms and phenomenal playing. And so tight!

    Another testimonial to support GM!

  5. I always enjoy catching a show at Darien Lake, and this one was certainly enjoyable. Two shows rolled into one, as each band played a lengthy set. Lots of musical highlights as mentioned in the posts above. Lots of great guitar playing from four extremely talented players over the course of the night. Once again Derek Trucks impressed me in a big way. And once again very good sound, especially for an amphitheatre. For some reason, things seem to sound better at Darien Lake than they do at the Molson Amphitheatre. It was nice to be able to hear the notes that Oteil was playing during his bass solo.

It was also a treat to be able to camp out and party with friends before and after the show. We had a big crew of people camped out at Darien Lake, and although that option is a bit pricey, it is so nice to be able to set up camp, park the car, and then walk to and from the show.

    Peace, Mark

  6. All four of us absolutely loved it. The acrobatic performances were mind-blowing. Think high level gymnastics multiplied by 10, with the performances being done as a top-notch band provides the "background" music. Lots of great humour as well, which was accessible to the whole family. More about the show can be found here:

I've seen the Cirque stuff on television, but seeing it live blew my mind. And my daughter went to Cirque Niagara earlier this year, but was very disappointed with that show. This show, on the other hand, amazed her.

It was such a treat to look over at my kids to see awe in their eyes. And my son's laughs and giggles had me smiling from ear to ear and feeling warm inside. Magic.

Liana said it and I agree ... we'll be going again the next time another full-blown touring Cirque show comes around.

    Peace, Mark
