  1. Keri and I are still working out the logistics of the two stages, and whether or not there will be overlapping performances. A lot depends on how ticket sales go ... we're hoping that enough people come out so we can have both floors cookin' at the same time! Having said that, we'll publish a specific schedule as we get closer to the event.

Schwa, call me if you need more tickets.

Bradm, it would be awesome to have you come out for this show, and to help out by doing some taping. Tungsten Gruvsten is on board to help out with sound, and I'll be meeting with him soon re: sound and recording options. And hopefully some cool lighting as well.

SugarMegs, hope you can make it from Ottawa!

Simone, hope you can make it from California!

MarcO, it would be a treat to see you, but please keep your hairy friends covered. :) Including Lazlo. :)

Mister Slippery, thanks for your willingness to make the journey down the 401!

"Bouche-cam" ... Dr. Evil, first you start playing guitar with him, and now you're talking bouche's language! ;):)

Nat and Alexis, would love to have both of your kind souls and dancing bodies at the show.

    Peace, Mark

  2. count me in, I will let all the Niagara peoples know---been quite sometime since I got my groove on at the Lanc...

Would love to see you and some kind people from the Niagara region there ... it's been a while! If on your way to the show you pass a big ugly guy dressed in black, pull over and tell him to walk faster. ;):)

It's a drag that the date that worked well on this end didn't work out for bouche, but it's always tough to pick a date that works for everyone. I'll make sure that there is a picture of bouche at the show, and I'll stop Lazlo from using it to blow his nose or as toilet paper. ;):)

So far the following people have tickets to sell: tonin, backbacon, Schwa, tigger, and Large Marge, with more to follow. There will also be tickets available at a few locations ... more information about that to be posted soon.

    Peace, Mark

  4. Glad to read that the show went so well for you Deeps. All the best to you and WTTS for 2006. I look forward to having you play at the Sat. Jan. 28 FUNdraiser show ... it's shaping up to be an extra-special event.

Jomomma is currently my son's favourite band. Ok, maybe tied with Deep Banana Blackout. I'm hoping that they play at an outdoor, all-ages festival this summer (like Come Together) so I can bring him to check it out.

    Peace, Mark

  5. Good luck Dave! I heard you left for Ottawa. Poor Tonin.

He's missed around here, that's for sure. But at least he's able to make the journey back this way for a show every now and then. And we're still optimistic that an Ottawa show will happen in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully we'll have a teleportation technology breakthrough in the near future to make things easier. :);):)

    Peace, Mark

  6. That was a fun night!

Things started at 7 p.m. with a set of music for our children, parents, and friends. We've never done a set of music for this group of people before, and it was really well received. At one point the dance floor filled up with children and adults grooving to Aiko Aiko ... that was definitely one of the highlights from the whole night for me. At the end of the night the bartender commented that she loved seeing the kids running around and dancing ... there's nothing like smiling, happy little ones to make the heart feel warm.

The "late show for big people" also went over very well. Personal musical highlights include the Back On The Train > Love Is Like Water > Back On The Train (with two drummers!), the Scarlet > Fire at the end of the night, and the guest musicians that played throughout the night including Colin Read (who played the second drum kit), Lucas Stagg (with Jesse and Marcia), James O'Brien, Floyd, members from Organic Groove (Kat & Gerima) and other hand-drummers, Amanda, Snail, Chairmouse, and anyone else that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Thanks to everyone who made it out to this show, especially to the out-of-towners. I'm very much looking forward to the show at the Lanc on Sat. Jan. 28. It is shaping up to be an awesome night!

    Peace, Mark

  7. As an addition to the above post, we will be starting the "adult show" at 9 p.m. or shortly after, which hopefully makes it more reasonable for people that have to work on Thursday to make it out for at least part of the show.

As well, although I haven't heard officially back from Organic Groove re: drumming at this show, there are some people bringing hand drums to this show, so my guess is that a drum circle will break out at least once during the course of the night. So bring a hand drum tonight if you're into it!

As well, we do have some guest musicians playing tonight ... one of them is Lucas Stagg. He will be playing a short set of music between two of our sets ... him and 2 friends, 3 part harmonies ... it should be sweet.

    Peace, Mark

  8. Hey Brad,

I was all ready to ship a "microphone" along with the book, but I just couldn't afford the shipping and handling charges! :):D

I wonder what your father would have said if he was there when you opened that gift. :)

The gift idea came from your quote in another thread where you stated something like "I, for one, am definitely in favour of multiple doorgasms." That quote had me grinning and chuckling, and it got the wheels turning for my not-so-secret Santa gift idea. I'm glad that the gift had you grinning from ear to ear.

    Peace, Mark

  9. Hey Mark I still haven't seen the artwork for this show! Any chnce you could paste one up for the world here? I heard Dr. Evil had tremours of extasy just looking at it...

Hmmm, after reading the rest of this thread I think we have to change the poster to reflect the adult content that may be included in this show! :);):)

Seriously though, I don't a copy of the initial poster that was sent. Timouse, if you're reading this, can you hook this thread up with the poster.

    Peace, Mark

  10. Hey SugarMegs, it would be great to see you at the show, or at least at some point over the holiday if you are going to be down this way.

Kaidy Mae, we're due for some nice weather on the night of a show at the Lanc. There have been some crazy-weather happenings on the night of shows at the Lanc, so I figure we're due for a run of good weather. Hopefully it will work out, and please bring your camera if you come to the show!

    Peace, Mark

  11. I remember seeing and hearing some pretty intense parents at hockey games when I was a kid. To be honest, we hesitated putting my son into minor hockey partly because of the hockey horror stories that are out there. But he started playing last year, and is playing again this year (he's now 8), and it has been an awesome experience. Absolutely none of the parental bullsh*t that I was worried about, and the coaches are amazing. Now he's still young, and he's not playing select hockey, but it's still very encouraging that kids can play hockey for fun. Hockey is such an awesome sport!

Having said that, I had a conversation at my school with a colleague about her experience with her son's hockey coach and other parents. An absolute nightmare. Think assaults, threats, etc. If I ever found myself in a situation like that, I'd be calling in some favours from a few of my friends. I'm all about peace, but don't mess with my kids ...

    Peace, Mark

  12. Unacceptable ... I want 3 sets of Keller!

I'd never seen Keller up close before the Toronto Big Summer Classic show. What a treat it was to be able to watch him closely. He's an excellent musician with a great sense of humour ... watching his facial expressions definitely added to the show experience for me.

    Peace, Mark
