  1. yeah, it was really sad to watch people carrying out the remains of their pets and anything they could manage to salvage once they were let back into the building. but they did find a few pets still alive on the bottom floors, which i was really surprised to see.

i'm just glad everyone's alright. it could've been a lot worse.

  2. Keri, that was it. i live in royal oak now.

everyone got out safely, but some people lost their cats, not to mention everything they own. the crazy thing is, that after the place was burning for like 4 hours, this lady came walking out of the apartment building. she had been sleeping the whole time and only woke up when part of her bedroom ceiling colapsed on her. apparently she has some sort of sleeping disorder and never heard the fire alarms. good thing she was on the complete opposite side of the building from where the fire started.

  3. It's the craziest thing, the apartment building on the otherside of my neighbor's house is burning down as i write this. It's wierd to talk to someone as they watch their home go up in flames. My love and good vibes go out to all those people right now and to all those who have lost everything to a fire.

i hope they had renter's insurance :) i'm sure as hell gonna get some in the morning!

  4. look into going to Nelson Ledges quarry park in garettesville, OH, about a half hour southeast from cleveland. it's a great venue on a lake with the stage only about two hundred feet or so from the beach. It doesn't have a rope swing but it's got a cliff you can dive off of. This is definately one of my favorite festival spots. It's a smaller fest too, maybe a 1,000 people or so. the dates are 7/1-7/4.

    here's the line-up:

    little feat

    sound tribe sector 9

    rusted root

    david grisman quintet

    donna the buffalo

    vince herman & shanti groove

    drew emmit band

    the recipie

    and more!

let me know if you're interested, maybe we can organize a caravan or something!

  5. hey PP, the sleeping bag is mine. i left it in your tent because alexis was still sleeping on it and i didn't want to wake her. so if you could just bring it to CTMF, i'll get it from ya there.

also, someone walked off with my grey sweater jacket. i'm sure it was just a mistake, but if anyone happen to grab it, i'd love to get it back. it's my favorite jacket!

anyways, what a great time!!!! i don't think there's even a word to describe how wonderful a time it was. thanks so much to Keri, PP, jay, mangy, both englishs, and anyone else who helped pull that night off. i feel all warmed up for CTMF now, and can't wait to get down canada-style again! it was wonderful meeting all of you i haven't had a chance to before, and seeing all the familiar faces too!! i really wish i saw you all more often. if anyone wants to take me in for a weekend, i'd love to come visit more often!

anywho, i'll be seeing ya'll in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

    PS AMERICA, F@CK YEAH!!!!!

  7. Diggzz- at least the cow's already dead before they start carving steaks off of it. some of those seals are still berathing and crying out as their being skinned.

and i agree with Esau, i have no problem with native people trying to continue their way of life as they have for centuries, but not with just anybody who's trying to make a buck being contracted by the government.

  8. james and i are planning on hitting this festival too. we plan on spending the week before backpacking on Isle Royale and then heading over to minnesota. should be a great time- ican't wait!
