  1. this is really shocking and disturbing. i can't believe this sort of thing is still going on.

Save Baby Seals: End the Seal Hunt

Each year, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are slaughtered on the ice fields off Canada's east coast for their pelts. Over 95% of the seals killed during this hunt are just days or weeks old.

If you were to witness this cruelty personally, your heart would break. Newborn seals skinned or bled alive ... clubbed to death ... or shot and left wounded to die under the ice.

Nearly one million baby seals will be clubbed or shot to death in just three years. Shockingly, the hunt is subsidized by the Canadian government!

Please help us show the Canadian government the rest of the world will no longer stand for this inexcusable and senseless hunt.

  2. My friend,Tom, has been dominated for a Jammy for DVD of the year for his dvd covering the All Good Festival. I've posted about his project before, he films festivals and puts together a DVD covering the festivals featuring a few songs from all the artists, interviews, backstage shenanigans(sp?), and the whole thing is hosted by random folks attending the fest. He's a great guy with an awesome idea to get the music out to people who aren't able to travel to festivals. If you wanna check it out, his website is www.jamcamdvd.com

so, if ya feel like it, head over to www.jammys.com/vote and vote for tom!!!

  3. " 'cuz the people who feel the same way as you don't bother to vote(or not enough of them anyway)"

sad, but true. I talked alot of people before the election who were fired up to vote, but, after the election, when i asked who actually went out and voted, very few of them did.

I refuse to listen to people bitch out GWB if they didn't vote, because they were too lazy to voice their oppinion on election day so i don't want to hear it now. I, on the otherhand, reserve my right to bitch, because i did vote. :P

  4. i really hate my country sometimes. I guess i should specify government; the country itself and most of the people here are great. it's funny though, most of the people i meet and talk to feel the same way as i do about our country, so i don't understand how our government's actions and beliefs could contradict our oppions so drastically. Very strange.... there must be a lot of bush supporters out there, but i don't meet very many of them. but then again, i don't travel to the bible belt very often!
