  1. I like parts of it, but I don't think Colbert makes a good interviewer ... he keeps talking over his guests. I think Stewart has the advantage because he can just be himself when he is interviewing, while Colbert is hampered by having to be the "Stephen Colbert" character all the time, even while interviewing.

  2. RnB, did you see the recent "Great Performances" broadcast on PBS? It was 90 minutes from the RAH Cream shows, and it was pretty good. Clapton (who seemed to having an uncanny resemblance to Trey to my eyes) was more on fire than I think I'd ever seen him.

    Aloha,

    Brad

Caught it on the west coast rebroadcast ... great set, kind of laid back but in a good way. It avoided the perils of the worst excesses of live Cream ie three musicans soloing at once loudly.

  3. About bloody time for Sabbath, Pistols and Skynyrd , still no Alice though ...

NEW YORK - Black Sabbath, Miles Davis and the Sex Pistols are among five

musical legends to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will hold its induction ceremony

March 13 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, the organization announced

    Monday.

Also to be inducted into the class of 2006: 1980s New Wave band Blondie and

    Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, who founded A&M records in 1962, will receive a

lifetime achievement award in the non-performer category.

Inductees into the side-men category will be announced at a later date.

Musicians, industry professionals and journalists vote on the nominations.

Artists are eligible to be inducted into the Rock Hall after at least 25 years

have passed since their first record was released

  4. While I admit to being bummed by this information, on reflection my reaction is tempered by a couple of facts : 1) I have downloaded and burned more Grateful Dead shows that I am going to be able to listen to in the near and medium future and 2) I have *bought* more commercially available Live Dead than I can really readily assimilate in the same time. The ride was nice while it lasted and I'm going to miss the convenience of being able to grab any show that strikes my fancy, but it's not like I've been short changed. All IMHO , of course ...

  5. One of my favorites is a bootleg Bruce Springsteen comp called Jingle Boss Rock. The last track, Pilgrim In The Temple Of Love, is endearingly filthy. I also love Low's version of Little Drummer Boy, as well as Beck's Little Drum Machine Boy.
