  1. You got your songs! I'm kinda glad I didn't go JUST for Anthrax as this is pretty much the same festival set they've been playing for years. Cool that they covered Sepultura but when you've got a catalogue as deep as Anthrax you should play yer own tunes. I would have felt envious had they played something like "Time", for example. Looking forward to your comments!
  2. You're right, I just realized my mistake. I got it from the Mule mailing list and didn't think. I'll change the subject line. I saw them on a recent webcast, can't remember the festival. Anyway, they were really good. I'm definitely still in.
  3. New Jets logo. Looks too military for me. Also reminds me of the Conservative Party of Canada logo. I hate this team already.
  4. 9/14 Toronto, Ontario @ Queen Elizabeth Theatre 9/15 Montreal, Canada @ Corona Theatre 9/16 Frederikton, Canada @ Harvest Blues Festival Giddy up!
  5. I'll miss seeing Anthrax and Morbid Angel but I'm not buying Kiss as a headliner. It would be a fun time for sure, I just don't think it's worth the investment of time and resources. Plus, Bluesfest killed me. Have fun and represent!!
  6. The iPad is OK for typing but might become tedious after a while if you're taking lecture notes and such. If you go that route it might be a good idea to get a 3rd party keyboard. Or you could just get a netbook.
  7. Yeah what happened? I missed them but I was reading on another board just how horrible they were.
  8. We went to check him out when we got bored of Shpongle and he and his band were really rocking, we were getting into it and then... "Thank you, goodnight!"
  9. Sorry dude! We're still undecided and didn't want to say anything until our minds are made up!
  10. I didn't see them but I pretty much despise emo-tinged punk and/or metal for this reason. I did hear a lot of good buzz about their Bluesfest set though.
  11. Just saw this... Robin Zander's iPhone video of the aftermath. He says the stage actually fell on them but they were able to crawl out the side. Wow!
  12. So... favourite sets? I just ran down the schedule and jotted down the following bands, in order of appearance: Skrillex Girl Talk David Clayton-Thomas Erykah Badu Peter Frampton Protest The Hero John Fogerty Baloji My Morning Jacket Jane’s Addiction Lupe Fiasco Cheap Trick I'd give MMJ the easy nod as show of the festival and I'd probably include it in my top 10 Bluesfest shows of all time. After that it's a huge drop-off as nothing else blew me away like that but the rest were all enjoyable sets for one reason or another. Especially that last one. P.S. Lupe Fiasco made it 2 Sundays in a row by putting the popcorn guy in the spotlight again. Unlike Frampton, Lupe bought every bag (including the stick), paid the guy and gave him a tip. Great performer!
  13. I got your real-time weather report right here. Anyway, I realize this is all talk in hindsight. And I know that the organizers have to be careful what they say publicly because the lawsuits are sure to come.
  14. So which is it? Dumb luck I suppose? One can be confused and level headed at the same time. Panic would be something entirely different.
  15. Oh... so you were being facetious?! Sorry, I totally missed that.
  16. No, it was luck. It was pretty clear for a minute or two before Cheap Trick left the stage that the show was going to be shut down. Speakers were cutting out and the band was still playing. I think they really pushed their luck in waiting, literally, until the last second to make the call.
  17. What was their evacuation plan exactly? People just started leaving of their own volition as soon as the stage collapsed. Most everyone around me was confused and had no idea where to go or what to do. It wasn't until I got back on the grounds (because the rain had stopped) about 20 minutes after the collapse that an official told us to leave. I'm not being critical at all, I just think the crowd itself deserves credit for being so level headed. Is it more the other stages where they had to enact an evacuation plan? That would make sense as the immediate urgency to leave probably wasn't the same.
  18. Nice job on the news Freaker!
  19. We ducked into the beer tent about 30 seconds before the stage collapsed and then heard the crowd scream. We went out to take a look and I could not believe my eyes that the stage had collapsed on itself. It was a horrific feeling. It felt like people had died, but THANK GOD there were no fatalities.
  20. "Then She Did" has been on recent setlists and I was really hoping they would include it.
