On Saturday, November 24, 2012, the Craig Pedersen Quartet (live recordings of which can be found here) will be playing at Pressed Cafe in Ottawa, ON. The doors are at 8pm, and the cover is $10 ($5 for students) at the door. Also on the bill is Jeff Morton. It was pretty good. Slo' Tom (aka Tom Stewart, formerly of Furnaceface, along with Matt Ouimet) was the special guest, and they were fun, great tunes. Rey (also with Matt) did a nice short set, all new tunes. It was a little ragged (I don't think Rey's performed for a long time), and more on the laid-back/downtempo side (than, say, rockin' country tunes), but they did it really well. The Situation were a blast, flat-out country rock, with a drummer, and a lot of electric guitar (and some fiddle, too, IIRC). It's my second time seeing them, and I'm now a fan. Aloha, Brad
