I picked up some (3) KEF speakers and denon amp (all used) in the spring for about $400 and am quite pleased with it, for the most part. I've been recently running into some serious squelching and popping and clicking on some of the preset channel features on the amp, but I'm sure it's just because it's old and some parts of it are on its way out. That piece of the puzzle was $130 so I'm not going to be too upset if it kicks the bucket soon.
I'd recommend getting some speaker stands too - talk to Tungsten, I know his company was blowing them out. Well worth getting them up off the floor.

You can snag tickets on StubHub right now for as low as $23.99.
In other news (well, not really news even) my friend saw Lanois getting into his car outside his Toronto studio yesterday. The show must go on!
That's a GREAT price for that line up!

DINOSAUR JR
DAUGHTER
HEARTLESS BASTARDS
DJ are killing it live these days. The new album is as good as anything they put out in the 90s and their grey appearances haven't diminished their sound in the slightest. You really should see them.
Daughter is a slower, folky act, but the lead singer has a gorgeous, powerful voice.
Heartless Bastards are just fantastic 3 and 4 chord rock, with a female singer/guitarist that delivers awesomeness from opening note to closing crescendo. Do not miss these cats. If you can only see one of the three I mentioned, see Heartless Bastards.

Am I sounding bitter? Is it because I am in Seattle and have made plans for a six-week vacation to end at the Harvest Picnic? Can I stay out west a few extra days? Can I get back to Ottawa a few days early?
I suppose I can if I want to eat over $200 in tickets.
Maybe it's time to check out some Dick's.

1 1/2 cups soy sauce or Gluten-free Tamari Soy Sauce
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup sesame oil
5 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 of a medium yellow onion, chopped
3 large green onions, cut into small pieces
2 tbl toasted sesame seeds
1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes
Marinated for 24 hours. Soaked them for 2-3 hours before the marinate in cold water to get out most of the blood/bone fragments

I can see someone else like the Hip being added to try and beef up the line up, given that Gord is good friends with Dan.
No blade and no neil? This is looking less and less attractive.
I'm not sure Neil would play solo - just guessing that contractually it's crazy horse or nothing.

Happened with me before too, but they let me know which track specifically was the offending one and I just switched it out.

Glad you like it!
The whole Jim Guthrie album is killer, but that track specifically is just awesome.

That's sad to hear. Sorry for your loss, Jay.

Jesus - that's some crazy ass pass.

Not my bag this year, but maybe it's because I don't know more than 10-12 bands on that list
