  1. I picked up some (3) KEF speakers and denon amp (all used) in the spring for about $400 and am quite pleased with it, for the most part. I've been recently running into some serious squelching and popping and clicking on some of the preset channel features on the amp, but I'm sure it's just because it's old and some parts of it are on its way out. That piece of the puzzle was $130 so I'm not going to be too upset if it kicks the bucket soon.

I'd recommend getting some speaker stands too - talk to Tungsten, I know his company was blowing them out. Well worth getting them up off the floor.

  2. DINOSAUR JR

    DAUGHTER

    HEARTLESS BASTARDS

DJ are killing it live these days. The new album is as good as anything they put out in the 90s and their grey appearances haven't diminished their sound in the slightest. You really should see them.

Daughter is a slower, folky act, but the lead singer has a gorgeous, powerful voice.

Heartless Bastards are just fantastic 3 and 4 chord rock, with a female singer/guitarist that delivers awesomeness from opening note to closing crescendo. Do not miss these cats. If you can only see one of the three I mentioned, see Heartless Bastards.

  3. 1 1/2 cups soy sauce or Gluten-free Tamari Soy Sauce

    3/4 cup white sugar

    1/4 cup sesame oil

    5 cloves of garlic, minced

1/2 of a medium yellow onion, chopped

3 large green onions, cut into small pieces

    2 tbl toasted sesame seeds

1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes

Marinated for 24 hours. Soaked them for 2-3 hours before the marinate in cold water to get out most of the blood/bone fragments

  4. They turned out incredibly well. Cooked them on two EZ grills over low heat for about 10-15 mins. They were the Belle of the ball that afternoon.

  5. Making some Korean short ribs for a BBQ on Thursday. Had pretty good success in the past with this dish, but thought I'd see if you folks have any secrets up your sleeve I should know about...

    proceed.
