  1. hey Chuck are you guys changing the stage set-up this year?

Where we played last year is the only place in the bar that we can get enough power to while not being tucked around a corner with crummy sightlines; it a logistical thing. Though I have to say, playing "in the round" is kinda neat! :)

  2. Another fun one...we've got to play the Lanc more often! And if you thought the gig was interesting, you should have seen Kennedy back at the hotel after a close encounter with a bottle of Absinthe! :)

    Saturday November 27th, 2004

    Kitchener, ON

    Set One:

Hell In A Bucket; Sugaree; Loose Lucy; Bertha; Tennessee Jed; Jack Straw > Bird Song > The Music Never Stopped

    Set Two:

China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider; Eyes Of The World > King Solomon's Marbles Jam > Loser > Playing In The Band > Lady With A Fan > Terrapin Station > Jam > Playin In The Band

    Encore:

    Shakedown Street

Hopefully we'll see a few of you again at Charley FitzWhiskey's in Milton for the second annual North-Halton Deadhead Family Christmas Party December 11th!

  3. anyone know who to get in touch with to get shows there?? or anywhere in ptbo?

Big Friendly should be the man hookin up shows in this town!

Ratski used to book shows at the Blue Room I believe, but haven't seen him around for a while. MAybe he's on the B.A.Johnson world tour ::

We need to throw down a wicked good show at the Gordon Best Theatre. It's the best room in the city for a band to play.

Some bands that have NEVER played up in Ptbo or not for a LONG time now:

    Rose Garland

    New Shady Groove

    The Fat Cats

    Grand Theft Bus

    Jimmy Swift Band

time to pay us a visit folks

Rose Garland would LOVE to pay a visit up that way...anyone got some contact info for a good venue to play at?

That Gordon Best Theatre sounds like it would be fun...who would I talk to about booking a show in there?

    Chuck

  4. Hi, all!

Rose Garland's little corner of the web has been re-designed, and you're invited to drop by and have a look! We still have a bunch of photos and stuff to add, and we're looking at getting some live sound bites up... but other than that, all of the info has been updated; setlists... the whole lot.

While you're there, feel free to check out and join the forum. We've already got a neat little community congregating, but there's always room for more!

Drop by and say "hi!", and keep in mind that suggestions are always welcome!

    Talk to you soon,

    The gang at www.rosegarland.ca

  5. It had been awhile since Rose Garland and Caution Jam shared a bill; now that we've got this one under our belt, I can definitely say the we're going to have to do this again...real soon! CJ were superb; the Shakedown and the China > Rider jams were particularly wonderful!

As for the Rose Garland set, here's how it went:

Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower; Unbroken Chain > Eyes Of The World > King Solomon's Marbles jam > Playing In The Band > Uncle John's Band > Jam > Morning Dew > Uncle John's Band (reprise) > Jam > Playing In The Band (reprise) > Iko Iko tease > Not Fade Away

    Encore:

Sugar Magnolia > Scarlet Begonias > Sunshine Daydream > One More Saturday Night

Thanks for coming, and I hope that y'all enjoyed yourselves. As always special thanks to Ken (happy birthday!) and the rest of the PJC staff. Hopefully we'll see a few of you on November 20th at the Merchant Ale House in St. Catherines, or on the 27th at the Lancaster Tavern in Waterloo!

    'till then,

    Chuck

  6. OK...that was REALLY freaky...it didn't even bother guessing "guitar", which would have been the logical choice; it straight away guessed "BASS GUITAR", which was exactly what I was thinking! Scary!

Any chance on a Blow Away > Caution > Esau > Blow Away would be very greatly appreciated.

    ;)

The Caution is a definite posibility, but given their name, I'm guessing that the opening band might have a crack at that one! We've been working on getting My Brother Esau into our repitoire, so we'll see if that one is a go by Saturday. We definitely have a surprise or two in store for you, though!
