  1. ...Tap's Tavern in Hamilton. They're located 255 Parkdale Ave. North.

[shudder]Wow. I love the Grateful Dead and their music and even Rose Garland for that matter but... Parkdale North?!? Have you guys any idea what Parkdale North is like?![/shudder]

    I wouldn't be showing up there in a tie-dye and birks. ;)

Well I would (and do). Consider it a sense of adventure, if you will. Besides, they keep the beer damn cold there.

  2. Friday June 16th, we've been invited to bring our own wonderful little interpretation of the Grateful Dead's music to Tap's Tavern in Hamilton. They're located 255 Parkdale Ave. North.

From either Toronto or Niagara, take the QEW to Hamilton and exit at Burlington Street. Hang a left on Parkdale Ave; Tap's is located a few blocks down on your right.

1st set gets underway at 9:30. Hope to see you there!

  3. This Saturday night (April 1st) we bring our tasty interpretations of the Grateful Dead to downtown St. Catharines! This time we're setting up shop at a favourite haunt of ours: The Office, 22 James Street. Once again, rumours of an acoustic set abound...

9:30(ish)pm start time, dancing shoes encouraged. Come early and try the food, and you'll find yourself saying that the music wasn't the only tasty thing on the menu!

  4. That's right, we're back in Niagara Falls tonight, at the historic Boathouse, 3807 Macklem Street in the village of Chippawa. (Use the MacLeod Road exit off of the QEW in Niagara Falls).

Also, let it be known that we're hoping to get underway a little earlier than usual tonight (9pm or so) so that we can bring you the added bonus of a very special opening act.

    Okay, we're the opening act.

We'll be warming y'all up for ourselves with an acoustic set. If you arrive late and the music's already underway, don't say that we diidn't warn you... ;)

    Hope to see you tonight!

  5. Ok... who's all in for the 3rd Annual Rose Garland North-Halton Deadhead Family Christmas Party? Saturday night at The Post Office Bar & Back Kitchen in Milton (corner of Main & Martin Streets), we'll be playing three sets of yer all-time favourite Grateful Dead, getting underway nice and early at 9:30pm, and running until they kick us out of the place!

This year, instead of a cover charge we'll be collecting donations for the Canadian Cancer Society.

We're looking forward to sharing some Dead-brand holiday cheer with a whole bunch of familiar faces! Hope to see you there...

  6. I'm all for dancing in the aisles, but the guys cramming the space next to us were definitely NOT cool. In fact, one of them decided to plant himself right in front of me while I was in my seat! A quick nudge (returned by a very dirty look) got him back out in the aisle. There was a couple two rows in front of me; the husband was blind. When his wife tried to lead the husband up the aisle to the lobby, this same guy refused to step aside and let them pass... too busy dancing, I guess. I told him to move, to which his response was, "They can go around me." This was followed by him and his buddies LOUDLY celebrating the fact that they got in for free, and that people are morons for buying tickets, as well as heated discussions about work, relationships, what have you... everything but the music. A guy on the other side of the aisle told them to shut up, and after finally getting the hint that their actions weren't welcome, decided to move on to some other aisle, I guess.

  7. Wow... it sure sounds like Bobby has shot himself in the foot over this one. Touring revenue ain't cutting the mustard, so he's gotta protect the 'boards and the future revenue from them. Then he tells his audience (the folks that go to his shows and that would probably be investing in the release of said 'boards) to basically go screw themselves. I'm sure that Bobby's publicist is having a coronary as we speak!

Too bad, too; I thoroughly enjoyed the Ratdog show at The Docks, but now I feel like I want a refund.

  8. I found it kind of ironic that Phil introduced Scofield as "a guitar god if there ever was one" to massive applause, then he proceded to get utterly lost in Bertha, to the point where he gave up even trying to play the chords!

But then, I like to stare at car wrecks as I drive by, so maybe it's just me. :)
