SONY PICTURES CLASSICS TAKES GRATEFUL DAWG WORLDWIDE

1-March-01. New York. Sony Pictures Classics announced today the worldwide acquisition of Gillian Grisman's touching documentary GRATEFUL DAWG.

The film follows the final years of legendary guitarist Jerry Garcia. Directed by Gillian Grisman, the documentary shares the unique musical friendship between Garcia and famed mandolinist and recording artist, David Grisman. The filmmaker Grisman, affectionately captures the creative chemistry between her father, David Grisman, and Jerry Garcia, sharing with the audience some of the more intimate moments from studio and living room jam sessions. GRATEFUL DAWG offers an insider's look at one of acoustic music's most endearing and enduring musical kinships.
