Dylan's motorcycle accident 07/29/1966

1966 - Bob Dylan is injured in a motorcycle accident near his Woodstock, N.Y., home; he goes into seclusion.

Thank God that Dylan came out of seclusion after the accident or whatever really happened that day.

It was a Bonneville TT Special, 650 cc twin he was riding at the time also.Although disputed by some to be a 500 cc,Triumph never made a 500 cc bike.

During Bob's retreat he wrote The Basement Tapes .Titled appropiatley,since that was where he actually wrote the songs.

Triumph never made a 500 cc bike.

Triumph made lots of 500cc bikes, such as 500cc Tiger 100 Daytona (T100T) (check here, especially the 1967 entry).

Yeah,I realized that afterwards myself too,Not sure why I thought that,I'll blame it on the cloudy head I have this morning ,but good job bradm,ya got me,I should have known that,having owned a 71 750 for awhile and Triumph being my bike of choice.Awww,well.

I see that site also follows the myth that Bob crashed on a 500 cc.

what is the importance of what bike he was riding?

i see there seems to be a descrapency in what bike he crashed...is there a special signigance?

i'm not too well versed in the history of Bob Dylan

i wasn't sure if there was, say some reference to the bike in a song he wrote, or he alluded to the bike in a later interview...thats all...
