can-o-phish
Well, not much to say except this is one show that won't be a priority on my "to watch" list.... http://www.cbc.ca/story/arts/national/2005/02/07/Arts/junonoms050207.html Not so cheery... AdamH
What a mishmash. I'm glad Buck 65 made it on the list, I can stand Diana Krall and Death From Above makes the teens happy and not me sad, but what the fu©k have Bryan Adams or Great Big Sea done this year to warrant any recognition at all? And Matt Dusk needs two shots to the groin and one shot to the head.
guigsy
wow, for a country that has SO MUCH amazing music coming out of it these days, we really like to show off the sh!t, eh? what a typical list.
freerange
kinda goes along the lines of what Evan Solomon was starting about yesterday on cbc. why do we need a star system in this country? it does nothing but develop an elite we don't need. As Canadians we can be seen as somewhat slow to take to this sytem so why do a few mucky mucks continue to slough off the sh!t of the musci industry on us. what's worse a second rate star destined to back up some american pop tart or no star system at all? just be an artist, if the craft is good i'll consume it. maybe if art was placed into playlists instead of whores canadian fm radio wouldn't suck balls. not to worry campus/community radio...there is more need for you than ever. Jaimoe
k-os should have been nominated for Artist Of The Year. He should win Single Of The Year for Crabbuckit. Are radio stations and MuchMusic getting payola for playing Billy Talent songs? That band is everywhere, and are highly average.
dave-O
Arcade Fire's Funeral and Stars' Set Yourself on Fire were all over the critics "best of" lists last year, but no sign of them here. I do rather like that Matt Mays though.
