Jimi taped Joni

Weirdness

An interesting musical tidbit that I came across scoping out some sh!t on Joni Mitchell:

1968.03.19 Le Hibou Ottawa, Ontario

Jimi Hendrix attended the late show after playing a concert

at the Capitol Theatre and, with Joni’s permission, recorded

her performance. (Unfortunately, both Jimi’s recorder and the

tapes were stolen several days later.)

"I met Jimi Hendrix at the Capitol Theatre in Ottawa, and after his set, he

came down , and he brought a big reel-to reel tape recorder. He introduced

himself very shyly and said, "Would you mind if I taped your show?" I said,

not at all. And later that evening, we went back, we were staying at the

same hotel. He and his drummer Mitch, the three of us were talking. It was

so innocent. But the management, all they saw was three hippies. We were

outcasts anyway. A black hippie! Two men and a woman in the same room. So

they kept telling us to play lower. It was a very creative, special night.

We were playing like children."--JM

it's a major release.

Yeah,I realize that now after your PM.I guess I should have stated that this show has been floating around for decades.

My copy is an AUD recording, not a release,I've had it since highschool, got it off a friend who has it on vinyl.(bootleg).
