On Tuesday, police received a tip that two men outside Churchill High School in the Fort Rouge area of the city were giving out small rocks of cocaine with information about where people could find more of the substance. Officers arrested two men, aged 23 and 18, who they say have been identified as members of a local street gang. Both have been charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Det. Sgt. Dave Black couldn't say if the men were connected to the school. "I don't know if they were former students or not; I have no knowledge of that," he said. He said Winnipeg police have never heard of such a brazen attempt to recruit new customers anywhere in Canada.
