I mentioned throwing away your pick because Kevin uses a pick when he plays slide, although there's more going than just a pick hitting the notes. His fingers are also muting and picking too. Breit's slide style and sound has more in common with lap-steel.

IMO, for many guitarists, picks are limiting and don't sound good when playing slide - picked slide lacks warmth, plus you can do more with your bare fingers. There are great pick-slide players however, like Kevin Breit, Joe Walsh, Rich Robinson, Eric Clapton and George Harrison.

i'm pretty much mostly interested in the relative harmonics tied in with the slide. that is what truely

defines his sound and technique to me.
