Jaimoe Posted May 16, 2005 Report Share Posted May 16, 2005 btw, I think I may be officially out of picks. no need to toss any.I mentioned throwing away your pick because Kevin uses a pick when he plays slide, although there's more going than just a pick hitting the notes. His fingers are also muting and picking too. Breit's slide style and sound has more in common with lap-steel.IMO, for many guitarists, picks are limiting and don't sound good when playing slide - picked slide lacks warmth, plus you can do more with your bare fingers. There are great pick-slide players however, like Kevin Breit, Joe Walsh, Rich Robinson, Eric Clapton and George Harrison. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
