Trapped in a Canyon on TLC

Anyone else see this amazing story of Aron Ralston? The guy that went hiking in utah and got his arm caught under a boulder, trapped for 6 days, with his video camera, a pocket knife and some water..finally severing his own arm to escape and then repelling and hiking through the utah desert!!

Its been airing recently on TLC... pretty amazing and inspiring. He wore a SCI shirt in the first press conference after his rescue ;o)

I think the one they're showing on TLC is the same one that originally aired on NBC's Dateline...the clips I saw look the same..

That was an incredible story (I too saw it on Dateline several months back).

yeah, thats an amazing tale... think it was dateline I saw too where he walks the film crew over his whole route and describes the entire epic (including climbing one armed down the cliff at the end of the canyon after hackin off the arm)

SCI shirt eh? right on... previous tripping likely helped him get into the unfanthomable head space you'd require to zone out while you move violently back and forth to break the bones in your arm then hack through the remaining flesh, arteries, and muscle with your pocket knife

SCI had a benefit for Aron as well. He's definetly a jam-fan as he mentions phish,sci shows in his book- Between a Rock and a Hard Place. A couple friends (Armand and Dave) had the pleasure of hanging out with him at Telluride Bluegrass festival for a couple sets. His book is worth reading... inspiring will to live.

Did Japan tour with Aaron back in 2000. Totally upbeat and motivated guy. He obviously had the guts to do amazing shita and will go places in life for sure.
