rubberdinghy
and all I got was a picture of this dude. Anyways...we got lots more pics other than that but that by far was the funniest! I just wanted to tell everyone how much fun we had just doing touristy stuff for a couple of days! It's a fantastic city!!! John Scofield plays the music of Ray Charles. What a fantastic evening of music!!! It was John Scofield featuring Meyer Statham, John Benitez, Gary Versace, and Steve Hass. Man these guys new how to play! The Blue Note Jazz Club is the coolest little venue. Maybe 100 people. Me and Stephie sat at the bar drinking our cocktails in true Manhattan style. Anyways it was AWESOME! I thought I'd throw this in....After the show we went across the street to McD's...I had to try a true USA Big Mac...only to find out later that it was the McD's that was featured in the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy. Kinda neat how basically every street corner in that city has been filmed in some sort of way. Anyways...I thought I'd share this little tidbit. Steph talked to one of the guys in the band and apparently these guys are going to be coming through Ottawa soon and I would definately check them out! Ollie and I got our tickets the first day they went on sale. I think we got first row. Whoohoo! I didn't know he was doing a Ray Charles evening though, but I just saw an ad in the Citizen today, and it does say he's doing a Ray Charles tribute that night.I love New York City. It's been way too long since I've been there.
rubberdinghy
Sugarmegs...if anything it tasted better! I love BigMacs...side note...We were sitting at the table and I had also ordered a large "soda". Steph was extremely wasted that she proceded to dump the whole "soda" on the table...I instantly got up and moved, making the entire table behind us burst out into laughter cuz I had to "save my burger and fries." Most of the food that we had was awesome...here's a rundown for those of you who enjoy...In NYC it's go big or go home...all these place had huge portions.. Gyros, at some festival that they closed down 7th ave for...AWESOME! Panchito's - Mexican place in Greenwich Village. It was alright. Blimpies - Subway type place that was horrendous. Applebees - Had to try the US version of Kelsey's. Meh Rosettis's Pizza, typical, hole in the wall italian pizza joint were you fold the slice in half to eat it - oh yeah...there was also this kid in there who tried to steal a "soda" you should have seen the owner dude tear out of the store to catch him...Canal and Six...AWESOME! Some small deli in the Upper East Side...forgot the name...I had the most unbelievable Meatball hero there...HOLY FACK! Puello's - Theatre district...Another HOLY FACK!!! I had veal parmigiana (I know, I am a bastard) but jesus christ it was huge and awesome...I couldn't even finish it! Taco Bell - New Jersey near our hotel...WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE FRIES..."we got potatoes..."
