I'm pretty positive that The Rex at Queen and University will have live jazz or blues going on all day and night.Also, the Cameron House on Queen Street, just west of Spadina has live music that sounds cool: http://www.thecameron.com/listings_October%202005.html.Chicago's on Queen Street near MuchMusic ( south side of Queen, upstairs ) will have live blues, bluegrass or funk going on until late.The Horseshoe has a band booked - never heard of them, but it's $9 at the door.You could always head up Spadina just north of Dundas to Grossman's for some blues or jazz. However, the nightlife hardly ever shuts down so you should be okay there. Enjoy your time in the big smoke! You may want to check out www.upcoming.org and search Toronto. There are a few things listed, but I'm not sure if they'd float your boat. The Gypsy's always a good time and you'll most likely get to meet some folks from around here. Anyways, I know it's Thanksgiving (part of the reason I'm going to be there -- work and meet up with old friends for the holiday). Thanks for all the suggestions so far! But keep in mind I am looking for recommendations -- what you know of and like (or are part of, hopefully :cool: ), since I know so little of the Toronto scene. Actually, Thanksgiving here in Ottawa is in mid-September and we celebrate Christmas sometime in July. I may stop in on the Gypsy; if I do, I'll wear Ottawa's distinctive regional garb (liederhosen with lots of ribbons and a big buckskin bib for when we eat poutine).
