dimafleck: the living legend.
this is by far my favorite thing shown on television. a great documentary every week. or every few days...i'm not sure of the schedule. anyways...its on cbc newsworld. the most recent doc i saw was TOUCHING THE VOID. one of the most gripping tales of human survival i've ever heard of. Its the story of two mountain climbers in Peru who were the first to summit some impossible slope. On the way down one of the climbers broke his leg. The healthy climber tried to do a single handed rescue but in the end under curcumstances had to cut the rope. The healthy climber then made the decent alone. The climber with the broken leg fell down a cravas and was pretty much doomed. With a broken leg, he inched his way out of the cravas and then a few meters at a time crawled down the entire mountain. It was gripping to say the least.

deranger
Check out "Chavez: Inside the/a Coup". A British film crew were doing a doc on Chavez when the coup happened in 2002, and they managed to film the whole thing going down from the perspective of the legitimate government being thrown out of office. Crazy, crazy stuff.
