Hartamophone
Was this all broadcast online?Nope. Their Saturday early evening show was broadcast (or at least a good chunk of it was), but unfortunately none of the late night sets were part of the webcast. Booche
Viola 1> Next Time You See Me> Vioal 2 and 3I am jut getting around to hearing this show and let me just tell you, this section is SMOKINGLY hot. Great swing groove from Sipe and some fantastic piano playing from Rob during Next Time You See Me. Up to this point, seems like the band were getting their feet wet, perhaps even a touch tired. I also really enjoyed their interpretation of Ryan Adams, Hardest Part. The more I hear Herring and Sless together, I get to thinking they are a far better combination than Herring - Haynes. I sure do miss Warren singing on these tunes and the harmonies arent even close to the PLQ's (due to the minus Warren), but jesusfuck if the instrumental showcases arent complete meltdowns of your mind. I didnt think anyone could replace Molo either but Sipe is a demi-God drummer. Ollie, I guarantee that if you were here both of us would be curled up on the couch giggling to this like schoolgirls as we cuddled.
Booche
No More Do I (a slower than usual-Joan and Phil) Wow. This is just painful. Warren and Phil always sounded great on this tune, but this feels like no one in the band knows it (even though Barraco and Herring are there). It's too bad because I think its a fantastic song. Uncle Johns hurt a bunch as well, but up to this point we have heard some really good stuff. It goes to show, if you arent playing all the time there is going to be some garbage. None the less, the instrument-stations are inspirational. The Wheel had some poorish moments but over-all it was rather unique and provided some killer music. Me thinks this band was tired and blowing loads like Ron Jeremy in his hey-day.
