Guest Low Roller
Apparently one of the platforms for the Bloc Quebecois for the upcoming federal elections was a promise to create a Team Quebec for international hockey competitions like the World Junior Championships, Olympics, etc...Gilles Duceppe made the announcement yesterday justifying his idea by saying that England, Scotland, and Wales all have seperate teams despite being part of Great Britain. The International Ice Hockey Federation broke out into laughter thinking it was a joke. Guest Low Roller
Vincent Lecavalier, arguably the crown jewel of Team Quebec proclaimed his allegiance to Canada.Internationally, Gilles Duceppe can go fuck himself, but I wouldn't mind seeing a national championship that would pit the best pros out of Ontario, Quebec, and "Rest of Canada". SmoothedShredder
Ah yes... the "Go fuck himself" argument. That'll learn em. And he'll do it in an array of international locations too, how colourful.

Whitey
The French are so hard done by. Duceppe would still want the team funded by the Federal government though. Bring it on, I love all of the young Ontario talent that can be found in the NHL and the Ohl.
badams
International Hockey rules will not allow Quebec to have it's own team. They would have to be recognized as an individual nation. Not just a bunch of whiners wanting to be an individual nation.
SmoothedShredder
I can see why 49% want to leave. I wonder if they'll ever go up one or 2%... shouldn't be hard with the mean anglophones we got. Go Quebec, Go Duceppe!!!

Hal Johnson
A guy on the radio (Don LAndry) was talking about how much fun an all Canadian Pro tournament would be. You'd have team West, Team Ontario, Team Quebec, and team Maritimes. He admitted the Maritime team would be weak, but not by too much. Personally, I think that would F'n rock! badams
We could supply 3 or 4 soild international teams. However I'd like to see them all as Team Canada.
