StoneMtn
how is JGB any different then say, DSO or any other dead cover band for that matter? They are different, because they're not a Dead cover band. They are what is left of a separate band, that existed on its own.
boogieknight
Yes, I know that but I guess what I'm saying is why is it any worse then the DSO's of the world. Disclaimer: no offence to DSO and their fans, just using them as for point of compairsion
StoneMtn
I don't think I ever said that.My point in saying that this guy didn't get it, is that he is saying he isn't interested in hiring an actual band playing its own songs, because he is having a cover band play a week later. He is "comparing apples and oranges" (to be cliche) and as a result missed the opportunity to hire a band known worldwide that was already here, and just looking for a gig at a greatly reduced rate. Does that make better sense?
StoneMtn
Apparently, there is this group of American billionaires who fly to various ski resorts around the world, and party together. They spend hundreds of thousands on parties while they're at each of these places, and last night it was Whisler. JGB played their private party at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in the Ballroom. (A friend of mine did the photos, and he had planned to case out the scene, and see if it would be possible to get me in at the last minute. Apparently, it wasn't possible.) Here are some photos of this event...

StoneMtn
I know whatcha mean, brotha! This was essentially the same set-up as the Randy Bachman I recently saw at the same venue, that was less-than-stellar; to say the least!
