Weirdness
OK then, you've never heard of QR5 I'm guessing...Well, I've been into these guys for more than 10 years so they're definitely not brand new by any means but they have recently started playing more shows and getting a bit more in peoples faces rather than holing up in their studio. Anyways, it's somewhat tough to describe what they are like but I would say that the folkie singer/songwriter thing is at the core but they are fusing some really neat reggae/ska type stuff which makes it more tough to categorize. All that I can really say is that if you are looking for a musical breath of fresh air, these guys are great to listen to, they are very original and that has always been the appeal for me. And, the shows:Friday, June 30, 2006 Jimmy JazzGuelph, ON 10:00 PM 52 Macdonell St. Friday, July 07, 2006 The Phog LoungeWindsor, ON 10:00 PM 157 Universite Ave W Saturday, July 08, 2006 Alex P KeatonsLondon, ON 9:00 PM 580 Talbot St Friday, July 21, 2006 Pepper Jack'sHamilton, ON 10:00 PM 38 King William Street Their website is www.qr5.com which has a sample clip if you want to check it and draw your own conclusions...
