Anyone else in it right now?

SSHRCs due in 2 weeks

FQRSC (Quebec Provincial Grants) in 3 weeks

IDRC (Development research) in 5 weeks

So much riding on them and suck a FRIGGIN hassle to submit. Letters, CVs, transcripts. If they werent worth so much I would just drop it.

been there, still there, will be there again. yep. grant ap's are a real bitch. I feel for ya. but, all worth it when the panel comes back and says yep.

Best of Luck with the Grants. I have applied for SSHRC's and CIHR (Health) before when I was a research coordinator. I have shifted into clinical work for a while to take a break for the administative red tape, but I can relate to the Hell of applications and the multiple versions of the same information that one has to generate.

I've been at my "plan of study" all day. Hard to wrap up potentially four years of doctoral studies into one or two pages.

But hey, I can't bite the hand that has fed me in the past.

Keeping my fingers crossed... if anyone ever wants to exchange proposals for an outside opinion, let me know.

I always hated SSHRC season. The best thing about it was the exercise of putting in just a few words what you'd like to research if you had a bunch of money. Otherwise, I found it just distressing from start to finish (i.e. the next spring). Best of luck with it all, though, all you folks going through the process.

Thanks for the kind words. GOt my 2 letters of recommendation, my plan of study, and most of the electronic form done, so I'm pretty much in the clear 'till the next deadline (in 3 weeks!)
