Jerry Garcia's black???

I was following the above link referencing Jerry Garcia. It was from a review for a festival called Download 2006. There was a description of a band:

... Equipped with an awesome guitarist who resembles a black Jerry Garcia, and another who insisted on hanging a wind chime from the frets of his Les Paul, TVOR ...

I HAD to look this band up. TV on the Radio. Haven't listened to any of them yet, but take a look at this dude. He could be Jerry's black brother!

why does every gay sucky band these days features at least one jerk with a beard and 'indie' haircut. *(The only exception to this is TVOTR - that dude's beard is soooo big and shit and it looks like he'd have it band or not, plus they rule, so that's okay.)
