Dr_Evil_Mouse
What a fella . Is there any truth to the old saw that he ran across while searching for a cure for the common cold? It's certainly more of a "re-creational" than recreational drug; I always find it a pity when people treat it more like the latter than the former. That said, Hoffman's diary entry of his first experience is absolutely priceless (and says lots about his cohones as a scientist).
Asparagus
What a fella . Is there any truth to the old saw that he ran across while searching for a cure for the common cold? He was researching pain medications, specifically for migraine headaches. He was using derivatives of ergotamine, which is a vasoconstrictor, to over-stimulate the arteries in the brain, causing them to relax and ease the painful pressure of a bad headache. Much like the theory behind the use of Ritalin. Thank goodness for this man. I have had only three migraines since I took my first dose fourteen years ago, which is great considering that I used to have at least one or two a month. Happy Birthday Albert! paisley
Mr. Hoffman is living proof LSD is not lethalquite the opposite apperently (though I've never really heard it called lethal)if you hear Hoffman speak you can't believe how together he is for his years... he spoke at length during a conference in California celebrating his 100th birthday last year (worth looking for) and discussed his firm and unchanged believe that one day humanity will benefit immensely from the use of Lysergic acid diethylamide (from the german "Lysergsaure-diethylamid")a very happy birthday Albert! who says one man can't change the world
