Big Wooly Mammoth
Well, at least there's not much there that's gonna make me upset about not being able to go. Looks like a big change in direction, similar to Bonnarroo. Iggy and the Stooges performing Funhouse is the highlight for me from that list - but I did get to see the Stooges in Boston in April. bradm
The disappointment I had in not being able to go this year (to make it three in a row) has now vanished. What would need to be added to the lineup to make you disappointed you're not going? (That's not a challenge or anything, as the lineup doesn't excite me much, either.)Aloha,Brad

Basher
At this point, the line-up would have to be totally replaced for me to have any interest. Clearly this is no longer a jamband festival.
AD
i think it's a good start, lots of bands there i'd like to see. i won't be going, but there's my opinion for the day. a lot needs to get added though.

Clearly this is no longer a jamband festival.Agreed. Replace it with the original lineup and I'd be disappointed about not being able to go. (or even last year's lineup which was still solid, if not quite as strong as the first Vegoose). Edited July 24, 2007 by Guest

Basher
It is not A music festival, it seems like ALL music festivals.Find the reasons you need to, but I am comfortable with the phrase "jam is dead".Hoping it comes back to life.

AD
was vegoose ever marketed as a 'jam festival?'this year's press says:What is Vegoose? Vegoose is a Halloween festival extravaganza that draws inspiration from its Las Vegas location and, of course, the spirit of Halloween. In addition to an eclectic group of music performers, there are interactive attractions, performance artists, and art installations - including elements of the Las Vegas entertainment and performance community. Don't forget to bring your costume!

They're either redundant or ineffectual. They're certainly completely unimportant in 2007.

Big Wooly Mammoth
when was jam music ever really popular worldwide? It's always had and always will have its audience. And there are still many smaller jamband festivals around. For whatever reason Superfly has decided to move away from jamband only festivals with Vegoose and Bonnaroo. Baj
The reason being to sell a ton of tickets. To a giant audience with so many different types of artists on the bill.
Basher
Doesn't the fact that a festival has switched from almost entirely jamband-based to more mainstream alt-rock to ensure financial survival reinforce the notion that jam is dead? And yes, I like run-on sentences.
