hamilton
I don't know what the Waterboys have been doing lately, but Fisherman's Blues is a masterpiece that should be in everyone's collection.

hamilton
Karl Wallinger left the Waterboys long ago. I don't think he's part of the current lineup.World Party are also excellent.

Ah, I assumed he was rejoining the Waterboys -- I couldn't check the link because MySpace is blocked at work. I knew I was on shakey ground when I posted that. StoneMtn
You know, I am quite certain I saw this band open up for someone big in 1984, or so; maybe 1985. I'm pretty sure it was at Massey Hall and was an opener for Tears For Fears. (It might have been U2, though.)Would that be the same band, over twenty years later? hamilton
Mike Scott is the only original member in this lineup, but Steve Wickham joined the band around 1985/86-ish, so he may have been on board when you saw them. hamilton
Here's a mildly grainy but quite fun video clip of the Waterboys in 1986 playing Fisherman's Blues on... some TV show. Link I dunno how you fackers embed the youtube clips on the post, but you all know how to left click...
