dave-O
Go see him, you won't regret it. He's a little bit Keller, a little bit Ben Harper, a little bit better IMO. Xavier Rudd is a one-man live-band playing guitar, didgeridoo and percussion all at once with no looping.
bradm
What dave-O said. To me, he was one of the big suprises at moe.down; I'd never heard of him, and hadn't even noticed his name on the line-up, but saw his main stage show, and it floored me. I bought his live disc ("Live At The Grid, B.C., Canada"), and love it. At moe.down, he was laying down stuff that had the same manic intensity/groove as live electronic stuff (nero-esque, at times, to my ears), then all of a sudden, he'd stop, talk to the audience as he adjusted his gear or talked to the sound man, then start up again where he left off. ISTR him breaking three strings (on a 12-string guitar) during one song, he was playing so hard. He played Kingston, ON, the same day as moe.down, and I was wishing I'd had net access to tell people about the show. Do not miss this guy. AdamH
And he dropped jaws at the Black Sheep according to my friend who was there. I miss Le Mouton Noir, must get back there soon.
