Chris Simon is now the proud owner of both the longest and second longest suspensions in NHL history.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I don't think it's long enough. He's proven time and time again that he cannot/will not change. Enough is enough, this guy is an embarrassment to the NHL.

I bet he'll be like McSorely and will simply no return.

They should do what that county in the southern States did. When he comes back to play he HAS to wear a bright pink uniform whenever he's on the ice.

I think it's long enough but I would have liked to see a provision whereby he has to apply for reinstatement, ala Todd Bertuzzi.

It's a shame because I like Chris Simon more than the average goon. And it's too bad that will be his lasting reputation because he had some really productive years in Washington.

I think he'll be done with the Islanders... it would be embarassing for a player to stick up for him now when he clearly went psychopathic by using his skate as a weapon. If it was me, and I was on the Islanders, I think I'd rather not have a guy like that around. But who knows where he'll end up... it's not like he's going to jail or anything. Maybe he should though. What an ugly play.
