bouche
We're trying out a Chef At Home "Spaghetti and Meatballs" recipe from Michael Smith on Foodtv.ca tonight. The reason? We watched him do this on an episode last night and it made us hungry. The meatballs looked INCREDIBLE. I just rolled up 8 huge meatballs and they're simmering in sauce right now.I'm picturing the meatballs and sauce on a nice italian bun with melted mozzarella/provolone out of the leftovers. What do you guys like to do that takes at least some effort? ollie
Ha, ha, you *love* Michael Smith. You want to marry him. Christine's mom makes killer spaghetti sauce, I'll have to get her to post the recipe.

Davey Boy 2.0
spaghetti/bolognaise sauce seems simple to me- fresh veggies, all the right spices, simmer for a good long time. we use the veggie ground round in place of meat which works well for me
Ms.Huxtable
I'm eating the leftover meatballs right now. GOOD GOD!! I moaned out loud at my desk!
bouche
that leftover spaghetti held up pretty damn well for lunch-overs.
bouche
Davey, I don't think this is what you're talking about, you're reminding me of some horrid sauces that were ruined by veggies. I'm not a big fan of sauce with every vegetable in the refrigerator thrown in. I feel that a sauce should be a sauce. if you want veggies, make a salad with yer spaghetti.I've had spaghetti with big chunks of carrot, green peppers, goddamn celery, and other vegetables meant for a stew or chili. It just doesn't feel like pasta sauce at that point.

Davey Boy 2.0
celery has no place in such a sauce
rubberdinghy
I only like two veggies in my sauce...mush and onions...And they have to be nice and sauteed...I always use a can of diced and a smaller can of sauce...I love the taste of the tomato chunks.
