Ms.Huxtable
Christmas traditions, smells and tastes are so deeply imbedded in my soul that this time of year I crave things I don't at any other time of the year. And because it's the holidays, I give in to every single craving.Lately I've been consuming a lot of egg nog (with rum), fruit cake, mulled hot cider (with rum).I'm looking forward to my Christmas eve ritual of decident nibbles, caviar, cheeses and crab dip. Oh yeah, let's not forget about Christmas breakfast and turkey dinner! What are your holiday culinary vices?

rubberdinghy
YES!!! Just found out my bro is doing the turkey again this year....God love her, but my mom's turkey needs a healthy dose of gravy, just to get it in ya...and then again it's all very bland...my old man's Scottish ya see.Voodoolady's mom's turkey...Haitian style...Brined in wicked spices for 24 hours, stuffed to the gills with a spicy ground beef stuffing, served with beans and rice. Add a side of good ole french canadian tourtiere....HOLY FUCK!As for the booze...the wife's off today to buy a 60 of Bailey's...Good all day long!!! Alexis
does anyone's family change it up with the sides from time to time or do y'all keep it traditional? i've had the same gingered carrots, mashed, and rotating selection of either sparigrass, bsprouts or the butternut squash my entire life.
