Kae Sun Begins Strong in 2008 with an Extensive Tour Schedule, New EP and Music Video

Happy New Year. Kae Sun and company are really excited about 2008, as lots is happening. Lets start from the beginning. Firstly, a run of shows has been booked in February and March, and a weekly residency is being planned in Toronto for April. Details of that is forthcoming, but we have a venue and each night will feature special guests, themes and unique set lists. Before that, Kae will be touring Ontario and Quebec, joining Grand Analog in March for a string of dates. A performance at the NuJazz Festival and Canadian Music Week is also planned.

In addition, Kae has spent some time at Grant Ave. Studios in Hamilton and emerged with a four song digital acoustic EP, which will be released in February. Our EP Release is planned for February 15th in Hamilton. The track listing and title is yet to be finalized, but expect an acoustic version of 'Living in the City' and a cover track. Lastly, our brilliant friend Isaque Hossian ( www.ihossain.com) has created a video for 'Living in The City' which will be sent to MuchMusic and other sources by the End of The Month. Kae Sun will celebrate that with a video release bash in March.

PRESS:

"Imagine K-Os backed by Ben Harper's band and you've got Kae Sun" - Maryam Siddiqi - National Post Canada.

"Combining elements of jazz, reggae, hip-hop and rock, Sun is transcending genres, all the while bringing a unique depth to his music." - Mike DiRisio - Brock Press

"With his backing band blurring the lines between jam bands, soul and hip-hop, Kae Sun incited a hip assortment at the Supermarket" - Aaron Levy - Exclaim!

"Kae Sun's style pays homage to some of his influences, which range from Nina Simone, Marvin Gay, Curtis Mayfield to Bob Dylan, and conscious hip hop artists such as Talib Kweli and Common. However, he should not be narrowly defined as a rapper, because his musical collage includes soundscapes that can catch anyone down with hip hop, soul, reggae or folk by surprise." - Johnathan Robinson - Trent Arthur
