Big Wooly Mammoth
Do these guys have anything left in them? Once upon a time they were one of my favourite bands. That lasted until Green, which I though was a departure for them, but today it stands as classic REM in my book. I remember thinking that Fables was a sellout when it came out - heh. I saw them at Massey Hall in 1986. Over 20 years ago - wow. Natalie Merchant came out for the encore (including Sloop John . I had no idea who she was at the time. I wanna be Your Dog! I remember Michael just stalking on the stage while the rest of the band were just waiting to see what he'd start singing next. Green tour was pretty good as well. I was hesitant about seeing them at MLG, but they made it work. Saw them a few years ago at the Civic Centre for nostalgic reasons, but have since totally lost interest. I just found that Massey who at dime! Gotta pick that one up. IRS era REM! R.E.M. NewRider
I personally LOVE R.E.M.'s newer stuff. Songs like "Daysleeper", "E-Bow the Letter", "All the Way To Reno", "Electrolite" "The Great Beyond" and all of Monster kicked ass in my books. AD
so, by 'new' you mean 12 years old?
NewRider
Well, their last record didn't do it for me but a lot of people complain that they were finished after Automatic For The People. So I refer to their material over the past decade as "newer" stuff.
Northern Wish
The new single is pretty good, the last album of theirs I loved was Adventures in Hi Fi. I was a big Monster fan, I don't know how anyone could not like that cd.........Sean
