Chicago/UM NYE

Recommended Posts

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Jason(Headygouda), Sarah and I had a

blast in Chicago for NYE! Umphreys McGee played 3 shows at the historic

Auditorium Theatre. Lots of guests culminating with the Chicago Mass

Choir on the 31st. All 3 shows had great moments!

We enjoyed some tasty food in the windy city, probably the best meal at

Frontera Grill(Rick Bayless) for Mexican. Definitely check out Frontera Grill

if ever in Chicago. The food was awesome, everything tasted very fresh and

the meal was surprisingly affordable. We did a bunch of apps that included

a seafood platter that had oysters and 2 ceviches (marlin and scallops), taquitos

filled with pork and carmelized onions, guacamole, queso with red peppers and

chorizo sausage, tacos with a bunch of salsas and some damn tasty margaritas!

Good Stuff!! http://www.rickbayless.com/restaurants/grill.html

Millennium Park is definitely worth the visit: the Bean, Pritzker Pavilion and

the Crown Fountain are all impressive. Right beside the Park is the Art

Institute of Chicago, a must see/do as well.

Chicago has some great historic walks as well. We did the

historic skyscrappers walking tour. http://www.architecture.org/tours.aspx

Lots of great pics here of NYE:
