mikey d
off their website . . . MMW have begun laying down tracks for their ninth studio album, due out in the spring of 2004. The trio began recording last week at their Brooklyn studio Shacklyn, with producer John King. King, one of the Dust Brothers, is best known for his innovative work with the Beastie Boys and Beck. His ear for looped beats and funky feels is as deft as ever. He and MMW found the perfect balance of improvisation, beats, and self-samples. In between sessions of recording and editing, there was plenty of fine wine and chef-Medeski vittles. Stay tuned for updates... i cant wait for that. Mr. Musicface
Funny, the Dust Brothers were just on MuchMore last night talking about their work with the Stones, and I was thinking "wonder what those guys are up to these days." Sounds like this could be very cool. Peace, Mr. M.
